Holy shit, I actually read the whole thing, props to those guys for flushing the whole idea out. I take it as a sarcastic critique of 'young earth creationists'. Compare/contrast them with these flat-earthers and you see how absurd "creationism" really sounds. I love the allegory... silly humans, these giant brains are both a blessing and a curse.
Off topic, but reading that sort of reminded me of a book I once read-
Flatland: a romance of many dimensions. It's a big allegory about geometry and human perspective... sometimes hard to get through, but very fulfilling in the end. For those of you with short attention spans, you can always watch the cheesy yet entertaining 2007 animated version (though the book, written in the late 1800's, is actually pretty short).
