My job has ruined my life. I'm out of the loop when it comes to music: something which used to be one of my highest passions.
It was to my own embarrasment then I did not know that Kanye West, at one point in time my favorite artist, has new material out. I feel like I'm living in a cave in the 1400s in London. I just learned about Justice. These guys have been around... and their music is definitely something I'm interested in. It's my kind of music. So without people listing hundreds of artists and songs like the download of the day thread, can you give me the most relevent things I should try to catch up on in the electronic and hip hop scenes? I am embarrased to ask this, at the age of 24 I'm already becoming an old man. Please don't let me die so young. Help me out! |

check out CSS and MGMT (i know, both acronyms, LOL). they aren't straight up electro but definitely have some heavy electro influences and pretty good right now. i really haven't heard of a lot of good new electro lately. in regard to hip hop, one of these other chaps will have to help you with it, but if its any consolation, i heard the new kanye album sucks.

Psychedelics are illegal not because a loving government is concerned that you may jump out of a third story window. Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behavior and information processing.

If you're into really experimental stuff with a new harmonics edge then I urge you to give the Jonas Brothers a listen to. their music changed my life.
Also, Hilary Duff is doing some pretty incredible stuff these days. She blends punk pop fusion into something completely fresh and innovative. |

Pretty sure I posted in the sexbox that Kanye's new album sucks, too much monotone singing, 0 rap.
I've been meaning to post it for a while, but I completely forgot how to do it, you enter a little code into a wordpad document inside your music folder, and it lists every song you have, I'm sure im missing out on some good stuff, anyone know how? |
