DPC didn't concern himself with things of this nature. He had quite a bit of belly fat on him.
Gary Taubes, on the other hand, cares a lot about this kind of stuff. He cares so much in fact, that he wrote the book Why We Get Fat: And What To Do About It. |

I was talking yesterday with how simple weight loss/gain is. It's all about taking in more or less calories than you burn depending on goals and like... that's it. Love what a huge industry there is tho on a topic that is summarized in about two sentences.

Just did this on 3 eggs. Works great, make sure they're sufficiently cooled-down though, otherwise it kinda explodes in your hand. Also you have to blow really hard and fast, Mist and F3lix should have no problem. |

On another note, microwaving eggs and throwing them makes for a spectacular exploding egg trick.

Not exactly appropriate for serving to other people, however.

The basis of our governments being the opinion of the people, the very first object should be to keep that right; and were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers, or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter. But I should mean that every man should receive those papers and be capable of reading them. |

GMail's "undo" feature.
I hate proofreading things, but, inevitably, after sending an email with GMail, as soon as the "sent" message pops up, there's oftentimes a typo staring me in the face. Quite awhile ago, while browsing their Labs, I found an "Undo" addition that basically just delays the sending of a message for a defined increment of time (up to 30 seconds). I enabled it and didn't think much of it. Here I am, perhaps a year later, and I'm unsure how anyone emails without this little guy. If you've ever sent an email and immediately though, "oh fuck, I should have reread that" as your creation shot off into cyberspace, take my advice and enable "Undo Send." Just click on the little gear icon in the top right corner of GMail, go to Labs, search for "Undo Send" and enable. From there, you can change the duration in your settings. I suggest the longest available. |

Gaz, can you change this thread name to Lifehacks/Frugality?
I've gotten pretty big into the frugal lifestyle lately. For now, mostly because I'm poor, but I also want to practice it now because let's be honest, most of the shit we spend money on, besides food, housing, and transportation, is pretty much wasteful bullshit. And we waste a lot of money on food, housing, and transportation too. In the future, when I do have somewhat of a solid "career" (whatever that means these days), I don't plan on busting my ass off doing a shit job that I hate to make 70k a year. So, whatever I end up doing long-term, I still want to be able to save a decent amount of cash. I plan on doing it by starting being frugal as fuck right now. That means none of those gay little micro-meals you rich boys are so fond of. A lot of good shit here: Life Hacks Going to try this this week: |

Very few people go to the store to just buy detergent, though. So really the time comparison is however long it takes to do all of this (which I'm guessing is more than 30 minutes) compared to the time it takes to walk through the detergent aisle and select a brand.
