Laredo/San Antonio
I know a couple of you are more familar with that part of the country then I am. I might have to head down there next weekend. Leaving Saturday, and coming back on Monday morning. I have a few things I want to check out, but what are must see things. Obviously, the Alamo, but is there any other places that I have to check out?
Edit: Also, hotelwise, where so I stay? Is it work a couple extra bucks to stay downtown San Antonio, or should I just hang on the outskirts and head into downtown all day Sunday? I'll be by myself, so I will be free to roam wherever I like! |

I've only been to Longview a few times. I've also never traveled by myself, which I will enjoy with some freedom. Now I just need this girl to come in, and buy so I can start planning. UB, you should drive down to Laredo with me and see what we can do about crossing the border. Probably pretty safe!

Count me in if you come down. Some of the better bang for the buck places are on the west side of San Antonio. The I-10 area around 210 and huebner. Truthfully, I'd skip San Antonio and hang out in Austin, but that's just me. Not sure who's going to be with you. But San Antonio does have sea world & six flags. Austin is just fucking awesome. The sixth street area south if the capitol to me beats the bejesus out if the riverwalk. I give nod because of the music scene.
Laredo. Why? It's a hell of a trek from San Antonio. Its a toilet before it became "dangerous." there's no reason at all to cross over to Nuevo Laredo. If you're going to Mexico, this isn't the place to go. Did I mention it's a really long drive from San Antonio? Two places to try. The flying saucer. Either in Austin or San Antonio. 200+ beer selections brought to you by scantily clad coeds. The salt lick BBQ. It's in hays county between Austin and San Antonio. Awesome stuff and byob last time I checked. |

I wasn't being serious about the trip to mexico.
Here is why I would be visiting. A customer of mine has a co signer who lives in Laredo. Due to National Privacy laws, myself, or someone from our company would have to travel down there to watch this person sign the documents to make the sale final. I figure, why the hell shouldn't I go down there and enjoy a weekend away. Maybe see the sights, and get crazy with the oranged haired fella. |
