I fucked up my right shoulder, right wrist, right knee, both ankles and my neck. But everything seems to be in working order. It didn't help that the highway patrol felt the need to issue me 3 citations for a no collision accident that didn't involve anyone or anything except for me, my bike, and the ground.

I'm sure you've heard this one, but there are two kinds of riders; those who have gone down and those that will. I'm sort of due for a wreck, it's been a couple years but I came pretty close with that tire thing so that's gotta count for something. Hey man, sucks about the bike but the fact you could walk away is fucking awesome. Congrats on taking it like a champ and hopefully you'll be riding again soon!

Fuck that looks painful. What happened? How fast were you going? Does this make you not want to ride anymore (I don't think it would make you less of a man if the answer to this were "yes")? Just kidding, of course it would.

It hurt much worse then it looks, not so much any more. I was going about 60 mph on a tight right turn, (Advisory speed limit was 25 mph) I was banked to far to the right and touched my right knee to the ground, now touching a knee to the ground is proper turning technique if you 1. Know what you're doing and 2. wearing the appropriate equipment. No to both of those for me. Touching my knee caused me to straighten the bike up right which means I couldn't keep the turn at that speed. I had about 8 feet to slow down before I went off the road and in to some grassy ditch sort of thing.
Does this make me not want to ride anymore? Not at all. I can't wait to get a new bike and not crash it in a single vehicle accident. This is the turn I was on. Google Maps And right about here is where I landed. Google Maps |
