I just took some pictures of my ride on a shitty ass camera phone. Here's what it looks like. It's a 2001 GMC Sierra. It's a nice ride. Go ahead and post your ride.

I think in a year or two (after college) I'm going to drop a couple thousand tricking this bad mo-fo out. I'd like to tint the windows, get new wheels, and do something (not sure what it'd be) to significantly increase the performance of the engine.

Mr. Blonde 04-18-2005 11:16 PM

I think you should save your money you want to spend tricking it out and buy a really nice car instead. Just my opinion.

Ugly Bastard 04-18-2005 11:18 PM

Nah. This thing is my baby. I've wanted it since I was 6 years old, and now I have it (I bought it off of my Grandma. Yes, my Grandma used to own this car). I don't see me getting a rid of it until it just stops running or until I total it.

I know how that goes. Not a day goes by that I wish I still had my old car that I got from my grandpa. I had similar plans for that car.

DJ FC 04-18-2005 11:21 PM

Count me in too. I loved my old car. I still wish I had it from time to time.

Mr. Blonde 04-18-2005 11:23 PM

I hate my current car. I have no sentimental value attached to it whatsoever, and now I just want something that is kind of new (1998+), quiet, and has everything in working order.

I like that truck Dirty, I miss the days of cruising around in the Tahoe though.

Is it an R/T? If not, my friend had a Stealth just like that, but with 2 gold stripes.

Your car is pretty pimp man, but I have a thing for turbos.

Yeah, I mean it's not a BAD car, but it's a 1993, and the little things are just really starting to get with me, starting with...

A. The exhaust. While I used to like how it sounded with the exhaust, holes in the pipes have led me to hate the fucking sound, it's annoying as shit, and it's gotten to thepoint where I don't like driving people in it because it embarrasses me.

B. The shocks/suspension.I haven't gotten them checked out yet, but i'm pretty sure they're shot to shit, I can feel a penny on the fucking road when I run over it, and the rims/tires don't help that very much

C. The sound system. It originally had a stock CD player in it, which a friend and I took out and put in a Kameleon CD player I bought. I took thatout last fall because I thought I was going to sell the car, but that didn't happen. When I reinstalled the stock one after taking the aftermarket out, I fucked up somehow, and the CD player would randomly go into static like you hear on the radio, and it really pissed me off. Aftertrying to take it out a few times unsuccessfully, I fucked up the display and CD player, so I was using the radio/tape CD player adapterthing for a while. That was, of course before I tried to fuck with it again, and now the whole thing won't work, andI don't have themoney to pay to get it professionally installed back in. So yes. I have no music in my car whatsoever. Unless I use headphones.

D.The drivers side door handle. Is loose as shit on one side. I took off the door on Xmas break and tried to fix it, unsuccessfully. So that's still broken as well

Basically the car is good for abso fuckinglutely nothing except for getting me where I need to go, and extremely pissing me off in the process. I hate it, and I really hope i'll be able to sell it and getsomething else this summer.

Oh, well then yours is by far better than my friends old one. The turbo on the Stealths/3000gts make a huge goddamned difference.

Be that as it may, it's still not nearly as fast as it might look. Maybe it's lost some horsepower through the years or something; but yea, it's not that fast. It just feels "heavy" while you're driving it. I want to spruce it up and make it really really fucking fast (w/o spending more than like $5k). Any suggestions?

Beebs 04-19-2005 12:31 AM

Easiest way would be to get a boost controller and ECU, but if you plan on adding much more boost, be sure to make sure your set up is capable of providing enough fuel, and possibly look into new, machined piston heads and rods.

SittinOnDubsWGW 04-19-2005 12:56 AM

Here's my heap.

It'll be considerably faster after I graduate this summer.

I like it. A lot. Going to try for the SR20DET?

Repugnant Abomination 04-19-2005 01:35 AM

Maybe somebody can explain this whole fascination with having a nice ride. To me a car is a way to get from point A to point B and thats it. Why anyone would spend hard earned dollars to pimp their car out is beyond me, especially at our age group when having a nice car really means having a shitty car compared to all of the REAL nice cars. The most appealing vehicles to me are the most effecient, especially with gas prices so high.

DJ FC 04-19-2005 01:43 AM

Do you want a nice house?

How about a nice computer, or a big TV?

A car can be an amazing machine, or a piece of shit, just depends how much love you put into them and how much you appreciate them.

Some love food, some just eat to stop being hungry.

Some drive to work, some cruise for fun.
