For those of you not aware, Orgazmo, tonguegina, f3lix, and myself share an apartment in Muncie, Indiana. In this apartment we have the tradition of taking turns preparing a weekly meal for the rest of the group. Now, for a few personal notes about Meals 1 and 2:
I think in a few months when we look back on f3lix's meal, we're not going to think much of it. But, it was the first week, and he did have the pressure of having no precedence to work off of. That in mind, I think f3lix did a decent job with his feast. It could have used a few extra touches like dessert, and maybe a vegetable dish, but I'll get over it. F3lix did do a nice job of putting forth effort for the meal. One of the requirements for this weekly meal is that the preparer puts forth a nice amount of effort in preparing the meal. For this, f3lix scores points. Tonguegina's week 2 meal was a tiny bit weaker than f3lix's IMO. I do not fault tonguegina's vigor for this system, nor his food preparing abilities, but rather his selection of food for his meal. I gotta be honest, I'm not the biggest La Choy fan. It's just sorta canned Chinese-wannabe crap in my mind. No less, tonguegina did a fine job preparing a large-quantity of the meal for us, which is one of the requirements of this system. Tonguegina scores extra points for having a dessert prepared for us. It wasn't anything special, just a store bought fudge thingy, but it complimented the La Choy very nicely. I appreciated the fact that tonguegina thought of our sweet-toothes while putting together his meal. -Ugly Bastard [ September 01, 2005, 01:01 PM: Message edited by: Ugly Bastard ] |

i am a master chef. The charcoal grill being my specialty. does apt. #1034 have a charcoal grill? i'd like to share a recipe and "cyber cater" for one of your group meals. Perhaps Ugly BAstard will accept this offer as a peace offering, so we can end our bickering and move on.....? [ September 01, 2005, 07:13 PM: Message edited by: Carnivorous Flavor ] |

Cyber cater away. Two things:
1.) We do not have a charcoal grill. They are not allowed on any story other than the 1st in this apartment complex. We're on the 3rd. 2.) I have no qualm with you. The fact that you even had the idea of sharing a peace offering is awfully thoughtful. I consider our past bickering's just that - the past. I think you're a good member and enjoy reading your posts. -Ugly Bastard |

My rating for tonguegina's dinner was an 8.2
I'd never have known about his lack of deviled egg making if he didn't tell me, they were perfect. He also used wonderful theming for his Asian dinner, which included metal chopsticks. His decision to include and appetizer and a dessert (a first in our weekly experience) also led to this rating. |

UB's meal was a special one for me. It was the first time I drank an entire bottle of beer (I'm still trying to gain the "acquired taste") and I guaranteed the meat to be finished by meal's end, only to find out that after making this guarantee, my 3 anal-fucking roommates decided to not eat any more meat.
The taste was excellent, I'll give you that, UB. But there was one problem. Effort. You cooked ONE thing, and that was the meat. The chips and salsa was presented out of a bag. At least you could have spread the chips out onto a plate, as for many of the other condiments like salsa, sour cream, etc... The beer saved you, sir, and you'll be surprised by my rating here, but due to a lack of effort, providing all store bought items and leaving most in their containers upon meal time, I give your meal a 6.2 Some sombrero hats, mexican music, and a better themed desset would have helped the cause, but I just felt the effort was no where near the previous two meals. |
