Question of the Day 7/26/06

I'd like to get a poll for each day that asks an ethical question and for thoughts to be shared in discussion form. I'll start this by posing the question: Should sex offenders have to wear a tracking device after they are released from prison?

To clarify, do you mean real for sure sex offenders, or people who get hit with shit like public nudity?

f3lix 07-26-2006 10:17 PM

rapists and the such, not goin with misdemeanors here

Mr. Blonde 07-26-2006 10:19 PM

hell yes i think they should. you want your daughter or wife being raped?

Repugnant Abomination 07-26-2006 10:24 PM

Absolutely not.

Mr. Blonde 07-26-2006 10:28 PM

look your vote doesn't count if you ARE a sex offender, that gives you bias. so you're out, RA.

I'm rather split on the thought. While I don't like the idea of sex offenders in general, aren't we saying they've served their time by releasing them from prison? There already is a sex offender registry list they must sign and is accessible by all.

I'm pro sex-offender.

ahhh, using fear tactics to take away people's freedom... have you thought about running for office?
if someone is at risk enough to have to wear a tracking device, they probably shouldn't be released at all.

Mr. Blonde 07-26-2006 11:02 PM

good call. we should just execute them.

That was my thought exactly.

I'm against it. Rape is a victimless crime.
