Question of the Day 7/27/07
Should college females on athletic scholarships be stripped of their scholarships if they become pregnant and can't play?
|
So for those of you voting Yes, why? Same for other answers.
I voted Only for the period in which they couldn't play. I considered all the money and time spent to recruit them and thought about voting yes for this reason, but in the end could not overcome my reasoning that they are suppossed to be in college for a degree and at least a pregnancy gives them time to perform better in classes. The only circumstantial thing I could come up with is rape. That would really suck for them. |
Yes, she is going to college for the degree, but the college is financing her because she is supposed to be an athlete for them. Shes not holding her end of the deal. Why shouldn't all pregnant women get scholorships then?

I'd say only for the period in which they could not play would be the best option. |
I chose for the period in which they couldn't play.

I dont understand the question really, you only get athletic scholarships one year at a time, so it's not like theyre getting more than the peroid in which they cant play as it currently is.
