Default Chicago Police ClearMap: Neat toy

Chicago Police Department CLEARMAP - Crime Incidents

This shows every crime incident reported by the Chicago PD by address, type of crime, and various other filters.

You have to be fairly zoomed in to get it to be able to look at each individual incident, but its a great way of knowing what areas to stay out of, to morbidly see where people got killed, robbed, whatever you want to do. But then there are the degenerates among us, who have found a way to use this as a virtual mapquest for drugs, gambling, prostitution, or any other vice you desire.

Of course, the reason this map has become somewhat well known, is that Chicago has a notorious open air drug market on its west side; any side street between 290 and 55 from just west of the city to Cicero is likely to have people on the corner selling drugs.

Not only does it simply list drug arrests, it breaks them down by type of drug, and sometimes even further than that, for instance it tells you if the heroin was tar or powder, if the coke was powder or crack, if the weed was a small amount or a large one. Its hilarious.

Now, I wouldn't recommend trying to use this for furthering anything illegal because after all, you would have to go to a spot where people are getting arrested, but its certainly fun to watch.
