Gentlemen,
I have an offer to extend your way. Every couple of years a jar I keep on my bathroom sink becomes filled to the brim with coins. That moment has happened again today. Before I go to a CoinStar and redeem these coins for paper, I would like to give you all the chance to win $100. Here is what I am offering: For the low, low price of $1 (PayPal'd to me at fakekramerATgmail.com), you can submit a guess regarding the number of coins in this jar. If your guess is within 10 cents, I will transfer you back $100 on PayPal. ![]() PM me your guesses so as not to influence others. I'll probably take these coins to a CoinStar on Thursday, so if you haven't sent me your $1 and submitted a guess by then, you're out. Game on. |

Clarification on the rules. You state in the first part to guess the NUMBER of coins. You then state that you have to be within ten cents.
So do you want a dollar amount guess, or do you want a number of coins guess. With a number of coins, its obv, the guess needs to be within 10 coins, not cents. |

Why a derp?

Within ten cents = a 20 cent span. that means that 100:1 is the equivalent of saying that guessing the value in that jar within a $20.00 range (like...$70 to $90) is a gimme.
I'm not sure I'd say that that's an absolute gimme...but I think 100:1 is still pretty damn close. 500:1 would obv be ridiculous. |

fuck this. you'll have to come up with a better way to get my barely-earned dollars.
oh, and don't take it to coinstar, they keep like 11% or some gay shit. your bank might, or at least one of your friends banks should have a change counter/sorter that will give you cash with no charges, all you need is a bank account there usually. |

If you're going to take the time to put your change in a jar every day, I believe getting your full amount back is the only option, assuming that a bank doesn't cost more to get there, even then I would probably walk out of spite.

On a related note, last night I just emptied $250 in quarters from my change jar last night. | |
