Vote to have the contest annulled (and no, this is not due to jealousy, I was the one who googled "funniest video" and posted the "who's line" video, I knew it wouldn't win. IMO every video was shit except the slow jerk one.)

I think the AFSCME one is funny. Also, I didn't think Slow Jerk was all that great, especially in comparison to many other Whitest Kids sketches.

Awful lot of whining ITT. The contest is the contest. One Golden N being awarded for what, in retrospect, was a disappointing contest is not the end of the world. Let's do better next time.

Going to have to disagree. Whoever wins this will forever have a tarnished Golden N imo. It didn't take any real talent to post any of these videos, and in hindsight it wasn't the greatest idea as our KAVotD thread (not to mention all the other videos posted in other random threads) has almost 3,000 posts in it, of which I would wager at least 1500 are video links, and any video already posted in there is subject to disqualification. Few members have been around since the beginning of that thread, and the few that have have certainly forgotten most of the videos having been posted. This led to a hindrance in posting good videos for fear of them already being posted and not wanting to sift through 100+ pages to check first (I did 50 and almost killed myself).

Point being is that this contest didn't really elicit any real original creativity and nobody likes any of the videos being posted. If we're a democratic board, I don't see anything wrong with annulling (or analling) the contest.

I don't know about the rest of the participants, but I certainly did not sift through hilarious video after hilarious video until I found a mediocre one to submit because I felt the KAVotD thread was hindering me from making a good submission.

Whether or not this contest elicited any real original creativity should have been foreseen prior to the first voting round. In other words, the premise on which you want to annul this contest could have been used to never start it in the first place.

These contests could be the start of something greatly enjoyable to Nubblies and produce lots of well-earned Golden Ns notwithstanding this one which is perhaps unearned. But if we annul this contest, I know that I, for one, will be much less apt to make a strong effort on any future contests after seeing that a contest can be made to have never taken place after it is already over.

Well, I agree that it'd definitely something that (in hindsight) should have been addressed prior to the contest. But, it wasn't, and we ended up with a shitty one. I'm not blaming 'Gaz or anybody else, this is a work in progress, but I don't think it should affect further contests...I just think we should vote on the contests before we propose them so everybody (or at least the majority) is on the same page first.

His logic is sound. The only solution is to enter slow jerk into a three way finals vote off. If we still laughed at it despite it being a repost ... its gotta be a good bit funnier than the others.

A.) DD submitted slow jerk the first time. The one that disqualified the slow jerk submission into this contest. Certainly he wouldn't be dumb enough to submit a video that he, himself, had already submitted.

B.) The site really isn't democratic. It's an autocracy with a leader that is open to hearing others' opinions.

C.) The contest was started with a Golden N at stake. In retrospect, it was flawed from the beginning. This is something that we can pretty much all agree on. That said, changing the reward of a contest just before a contest ends is much more flawed than this god damned thing was in the first place. Let's not right a wrong by committing an even bigger wrong. Instead, as UB suggested, let's learn from this and not let it happen again.

D.) Plus my video is one of them that's left. I'm certainly not giving up a Golden N because you guys are whining.

My submission was enough to make me chuckle, so I didn't/don't care if anyone else liked it, so I'll stand by it. Whoever wins deserves the Golden N that was promised. Them's the breaks.
