Talking on the Phone

Let me ask you guys something: does anyone else absolutely detest talking on the phone? I hate it. I virtually never want to be on the phone with anyone for any reason. When someone calls me, I become filled with rage. Most of the time, I ignore the call and then have to deal with the guilt of them thinking I'm ignoring them which, while true, has nothing to do with them personally. Anyone can call me. Parents, girlfriend, friend, business, whatever, it doesn't matter, in every case I hate being on the phone with them. An extension of this is that I hate mindless chit-chat. "Shooting the bull" or "catching up" drives me nuts. I can't stand when people ask me "how are you doing?" Like seriously, what the fuck kind of vague question is that and how do you expect me to have a great answer lined up and ready for you? Is there something wrong with me or is this sort of stuff standard?

I don't mind talking on the phone with my parents, but otherwise I prefer texting. I can only send 140 characters per text, so sometimes a phone call will get a point across more effectively. Id say about 90% or so of my actual phone conversations are under a minute.

I've always preferred making a phone call to clear things up quicker. On the contrary though, I do not like receiving calls. I really despise the nights where it'll take an hour to make plans that could be set in a one minute phone call.

I'm the complete opposite in every way. Depending on the person I enjoy getting phone calls. I can only think of maybe 1 or 2 people that if they called I wouldn't want to answer the phone.

I get excited every time I hear it vibrating in my pocket as to what it might be (personal, business, or other).

I ignore the majority of phone calls that come my way. If I don't know the number, I'll almost certainly ignore it. If I do, I'll still probably ignore it.

When it comes to getting things done a phone call is infinitely more effective than an email. Whenever I have anything customer service related and they give you 1000 ways to resolve your problem online or via email I still always call. Because you can get your way when you talk to a person, whereas via email they'll either not reply or just fuck you.

I hate talking on the phone with 95% of the human population but there a few friends that when I do talk to on the phone, it usually ends up being for a couple hours and its no bother at all.

I answer maybe one phone call a week. A phone call I'm apart of never ends quick enough, so I just decide to not answer anyones calls.

Not a big fan of personal calls. I don't hate them, but I don't want to fucking hang out on the phone. Business calls are a whole different matter. I practically live on the phone. The later probably has a lot to do with the former.

I don't mind talking to my parents on the phone. But overall, I hate talking on the phone. When decisions/plans need to be made quickly, a phone call is way more effective though and is normally the plan of action.

The phone was invented to carry your voice over a large distance, you don't need to do it manually.

This. Particularly in the car or other situations where they are unavoidable.

I will talk to my family on the phone, and that is basically it. I hate texting, too, but at least it's easier to end a conversation that way.
