I'm interested in this, but worried it will have flopped and I will have wasted my time and money (money spent on computer systems to generate bitcoins) on something futile. How can I be fairly sure this will be worth my while?

Seems to AP that pretty much only a handful of people in the world who has even heard of bitcoins even give a damn about them.

The chances of bitcoins becoming legal tender are <0%. The greater question is "when will the whole bitcoin thing completely dead?"

tl;dr = fraudster (one who isn't very good at not getting caught) pretty clearly ran a bitcoin exchange under assumed name, site goes down, half the money is missing, he also appears to support rape and kiddy rape.

Bitcoins are an excelent store of value.

If you have a decent graphics card it's not too late. It's still worth mining them.

You have to have a Dwolla account to transfer funds into your Mt. Gox account. If you have electronic banking, that shouldn't be much of a problem. Paypal will not work.
