Burning Man
I may have a spare ticket (and a place for someone to stay)
Any takers? |
The basis of our governments being the opinion of the people, the very first object should be to keep that right; and were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers, or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter. But I should mean that every man should receive those papers and be capable of reading them. |

Ok.
Are you already planning on being there/or in SF? I'm flying to San Francisco on Thursday. A few others are flying Friday, and yet more on Saturday. Saturday we are spending the day buying all the food/water/provisions we need in Sacramento. Sunday we drive into the desert. Do you want to meet in San Francisco or Sacramento? |

I was granted a low-income ticket, but probably won't be able to go this year.
I really wanted to, but it's just not working out. I hope you have fun dude, hopefully see you next year! |
Psychedelics are illegal not because a loving government is concerned that you may jump out of a third story window. Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behavior and information processing.

It's not that bad, it's actually surprisingly liberating as long as you don't give up on society and still try to work out of whatever situation one is in, regardless of personal feelings. The true Burning Man mentality is a fundamentally "poor" one (in the material sense) --- despite many people now attending seeking a "rave in the desert" experience while having little to real conscious understanding of the 10 Principles.
Have you ever been poor, RamNJam? I can't tell if you are speaking of a place of "been there" sympathy, or a facetious one of looking down on people? Hard to tell via text and your anonymity, u know? |
