So, the clock has just struck 12 and it's officially my birthday. The worst day of the year. I hate my birthday. Does anyone else have this problem? Honestly now. I want to make sure it's not just something else to add to my list of abnormalities. There is not one thing that I like about this day.

Parties are different...if there is a party, it's usually on a different day, and those are alright. I'm talking about the actual day itself.

Anyway, this year when I finish my classes I plan on sitting in my room all night (my roommate's headin' home, so I'll have the place to myself). I was told I could tag along to a alcohol-free suprise party for someone I've never met before, but has the same birthday as me. I don't really see me going though. I don't know. Maybe I'll just sit outside all night downing cigars...

So...anyone else seem to have this problem of hating their birthday, or is it just my pessimism and hatred of my life in general coming out to play?

I spent my last birthday in seclusion. I drove to Chicago and made sure not to see anyone I knew for the whole day. A great time of reflection and introspection... highly recommended by me...

I think it's the pessimism and hatred of your life coming out to play.

Personally, I love my birthday. It's not that the day is anything really too different from any other...it's moreso that, while I'm doing whatever I'm doing, I've got that little feeling in the back of my head that something's neat. It's the night before Christmas feeling...minimized quite a bit. Normally the people I'm around for most of the day have no clue that it's even my birthday, but that doesn't matter much...because, whether they know or not, it is.

In closing, maybe it's just the optimistic and loving of my life coming out to play (although I'm really indifferent to the thing on the whole), but the day of birth is one of those things that I don't see coming every year.

That's fair. I've always hated my birthday (like, for as long as I can remember) and haven't always been as pessamistic as I now am (believe it or not). Maybe I just expect too much from it then am annually disappointed. We'll see how tomorrow goes...or today, as it were.

But by the end that one even sucked, she had to leave early on our birthday.

Three years ago, on my birthday, I spent half the day at the doctor, and the other half laying in bed. That sucked, except for the fact I was pretty medicated, and the day went really fast.
