In the wake of Contest #1's completion, Contest #2 is birthed.

While its predecessor excluded nearly half of the active Nubblites, this contest is a bit more fair...probably.

Before I get into contest specifics, I'm going to throw this out there. Unlike the first contest, this one may be completed with one partner (meaning 2 people total). What does that mean? It means that two people can take credit for each submission...and, if the winning submission is one which two people contributed to, each of those people will hold the trophy, and each will receive a Golden N.

Without further ado, I present to you the core of the contest...something which I'm sure you've guessed by now. The task will be to advertise Nubblies somewhere...somehow...and to post proof of your doing.

This leads to two possible questions. Firstly...what can you do to promote Nubblies in such a way that will get you the trophy? Well, you have options. In 2 minutes of thinking, I've put together a slew of ideas...some of which include working Nubblies into a newspaper near you, painting your body black & yellow and writing Nubblies on yourself...then getting pictures taken with strangers, and, of course, rearranging the letters of a gas station sign to read "Nubblies.net Kicks Ass"...or anything of the like. These are simply ideas to get the gears in your head turning, you don't have to do any of the mentioned but they definitely are up for grabs.

The second possible question is, "How do we submit our entry?". Well, let me tell you...however you want. Using the examples above...if you get Nubblies into a newspaper, a scan of the article or a link to the online reciprocal would definitely suffice. If it involved something that you've done out in the world, a picture of the occurance (or video if available) would be great. If the best you can do is a write-up of what you did, that will work...but it should be noted that a phenomenal write-up of a great idea will easily be defeated by a photo of a shitty idea...simply because write-ups can't be proven.

Is this contest a cheap way to get people to try to make the board grow? Yes...but it's not just for my good, it's for all of our good...and you're having a good time doing it. Help Nubblies, have fun, and get a trophy...what more can you ask for?

Deadline for entries is Midnight - November 3, 2003, or 2 weeks from today. To submit an entry, simply post it in this thread. Each member may be tied to only one submission. No entries are officially submitted until Midnight of the aforementioned date...at which time Ugly Bastard and I will fist through them all. In the event that you are tied to more than one submission, your latest submission will be your default entry.

In your submission, at the very top, include the following:
Your Username & Partner's Username's Submission

This heading will ensure us that it is, in fact, your submission...and will make clear who exactly should get credit for the submission.

I believe that's all I have to say. Go promote, young Nubblies.

Hey, how about if I got myself on national television wearing my Nubblites shirt? Purdue doesn't have a home game for a while, though, so I couldn't make deadline.

This reminds of something that occured at the Variety show. During a long delay before the last number, which included Combat Chuck and a friend playing a radiohead song, I made a tape banner that said nubblies.net a went up to the front and had Chuck put it on his conga. Twas a minimal show of support, but an decent attempt nevertheless.

Question: Can the same member make difference submissions with different people? (ex: Alpha and the Butcher make a submission, and Alpha and Titan make a submission.)

I already have a plan that consists of tear gas, addresses of all the local gas stations, and my Nubblites shirt.

Another thing I'd like to add...

You can turn in your entry anytime from now until the deadline; however, it should be noted that, if you have your entry done...and someone turns something that's very similar to it before you turn your entry in...their's will have to be given the edge on creativity. To safeguard against your submission looking like a rip-off, early submission is the key. Of course, this will give your opponents a look at what you've done, and what they're going to have to do to beat you...

Those are kinda the two categories that you're going to be judged on...how well the promotion would actually help Nubblies in conjunction with how good of an idea/how funny it really is. The winning submission will probably do quite well in each category.
