We've discussed fast food restaurants in the past. This is completely unassociated to the talk that we're about to have.

What do you think is the best single menu item from a fast food restaurant?

I'd like to nominate Taco Bell's Steak Quesadilla. For the low price of $2.39, the customer is treated with a spicy paradise of cheese and steak. I can't think of anything else that's even in the ballpark of the Taco Bell's main attraction.

I like the beef & potato burritto, it is $1.29 and after tax, $1.37 I think. But it is good, and it can get you fairly full. Especially if you get a chalupa too. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Especially if you're in the marken for chicken.
Rally's Spicy Chicken Sandwich.
It is juicier, spicier, fresher, and more flavourful than any other spicy chicken sandwich on the market.
It is also only $1.05.
Compare that to Wendy's, $3.19 for their big dry sandwich, or Steak & Shake's terrible, terrible crispcake for $4.26.

I am a fan of the Bean Burrito Especial from Taco Bell, it's only 99 cents. Quite filling too.

My other fave fast food item is the Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger from Wendy's.

Gosh I love value menus.

Yes! Originally $.99, Wendy's now charges $1.29 for this delectable burger. I can't complain, 5 years of inflation it's getting about time that "dollar menus" start to raise their prices a little. It's still a hell of a steal, and a great tasting burger. But what's best is that you can get them in your local clean and friendly Wendy's whose service is on a completely different level than the "low class" fast food competitors (McDonalds, Taco Bell, etc.).

Terrible statement. "Fast Food" isn't all bad for you, and the "chicken bacon ranch" is a terrible example of something supposedly "good for you"

Almost all fast food restauraunts offer a grilled chicken sandwich, something high in protein and low in fat. Burger King has the Chicken Whopper, McDonalds has their grilled chicken, as does wendys, Chik Fil A, Steak N Shake, etc. But the key is to avoid things such as cheese, mayonase and ranch.

A 6" Chicken Bacon Ranch sub contains 530 calories, compared to 560 calories in the Big Mac. Subway is only perceieved as being healthier. If you choose to eat healthy, you can do it about anywhere. If you choose to eat unhealthy, you can do it about anywhere.

I realize that, but I don't know exactly how much I use, and most bodybuilders try to get at least 1g per lb of body weight. Better safe than sorry.

My only problem isn't about you at all, its misperceptions of what is "good for you," and what will make you gain weight, etc. Panera bread is the paramount of this; running around with a huge reputation of being "good for you," at least that's the common consensus on soups, salads, and sandwiches, when indeed it's some of the most unhealthy stuff on the market.

43 grams isn't really a huge excess, most athletes should be eating about that much per meal.
