Kurzweil sure thinks we will.
I agree with him that having certain things implanted in us is the next logical step. Why should I keep a cellphone in my pocket when I can safely answer calls through implants in my eyes and brain? I'd say easily feasible within the next 30 years. Also this series is great. Only 3 eps so far but it's coming out with a new season. |

Psychedelics are illegal not because a loving government is concerned that you may jump out of a third story window. Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behavior and information processing.

The ability to sense things at a distance at half the speed of light from the location of the brain is very tasty.
How long until we have people mining asteroids from the comfort of their bed? |

I don’t mind a robot with some sass.
50% of people have an IQ <100. A computer pretending to be a 13 yr old bot convinces 33% (retards) that it is not a computer. They took a lot of liberties. |

IQ is a proxy for AQ (Wired 9.12: Take The AQ Test) not sure why you've mentioned it, mind reading is not tested for and the 50% thing is a crock, in a billion years the average IQ will still be a hundred.
plenty of liberties taken with the test and they're bastards for calling it a breakthrough. edit : also they were a panel of experts in detecting fake Ukrainian boys or something |
