I never really got into the Zeitgeist/NWO hype because I was too busy arguing with Christians, but the symbols that are used in the whole NWO thing I agree mostly seem to be misunderstood. Also they give the wrong people way too much credit.

George Bush senior used the phrase after the fall of the Soviet Union to mean the end of a bi-polar world with its balance of power politics and regional spheres of influence. It was essentially the first rallying cry towards globalism, with America at the helm as the sole remaining super power. Really it was almost Wilsonian in its ideals.
