Oh, just that the winner of the Iowa caucus (for GOP) has given us 6 of the last 9 GOP candidates and only one of them has not gone on to be the GOP representative in the future.

Don't know if it still holds, but I read that Romney's campaign was not planning on going after Iowa, and was going to full-court press NH. It was over a month ago that I read that, and to be honest I didn't understand this move then and I still don't.

Look out Romney, Obama and every one else. I'm desperately trying to find the video of this man that I just saw on some shitty local news program in Columbus, GA. He is amazing.

I'm not trivializing Iowa, because Ron Paul winning it would give me many boners, but it won't hurt Romney to not do that well. | |

The basis of our governments being the opinion of the people, the very first object should be to keep that right; and were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers, or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter. But I should mean that every man should receive those papers and be capable of reading them. |

I'm on two minds on that, simply because the metaphor leaves out American being ruled by a tyrant most were happy to see go, and then being in a full fledged civil war the outside world doesn't acknowledge, and being scared shitless by one or more sides of that war.
The general point is kind of there, but it's not an apples to apples comparison. It's not even an apples to fruit comparison. |

It is apples to apples. Because it doesn't matter why the troops are there. (And even if it did don't you really think the people in Afghanistan launching rockets at Sinister Kid are upset about a "tyrant" in control? Either way, it doesn't matter.) The troops are there and they are killing people. This is so apples to apples it's more like Joe's Michigan Orchard vs Charlies Wisconsin Apple Farm both of which make Red Delicious.

Not at all; different factions in Iraq and elsewhere all have very differing sentiment towards the troops being there or not being there.
If you don't think that people anywhere dislike living under a tyrant, where the fuck have you been the past year? Watch some of the videos/interviews with the rebels in Libya and Egypt. |

Obama has 100% lost any potential vote from me in November for signing the NDAA bill.
It's possible i won't even vote for a presidential candidate this year. Paul is the only one I would still consider voting for. |

Santorum scares me. I'm sure he will fizzle out soon. Its soo disapointing that Ron Paul doesn't get the respect that he deserves. I am becoming more and more obsessed with him. Not quite on Felix's level yet but he does give me a solid chub.
