Reality shows suck!!!!

I hate reality shows. Unless it's the good original reality shows (Real World and Road Rules) get off my T.V. Why do these stupid executives have to keep torturing us with gay stuff like Joe Millionaire, The Bachelor, or American Idol. It just leads to stupidity of famous people and stupid people becoming famous.

they do it because it gets good ratings and they make a lot of money. makes sense, if i could make a lot of money hosting a reality show i would do it.

Well, although I agree with you that reality shows suck more ass than is humanly possible, there is a good reason that they are so common.

Money.

When a reality show is produced, there is a relatively low overhead cost. Typically no more than a million dollars is given away as a prize, and there are no high priced actors. Therefore, it is much much cheaper to make a reality show than a sitcom. The actors of friends are payed 1 million per episode, which goes to show why networks love to fill up their slots with reality shows.

Another epiphany I had while watching Everybody Loves Ramon: Sitcoms suck. They are boring, predictable, and not worth watching. Reality shows are so popular among viewers because of their unpredictability, and the fact that it's human nature to be nosy. Its interesting to watch people live with each other, especially when it's unscripted.

Sure, tv has been flooded with an excess of crappy reality shows, but it's what the public wants. As much as I hate The Real World, I would rather watch it than Everybody Loves Ramon.

To be honest I'm a fan of The Osbournes, makes me feel like my family isn't so fucked up. And watching Ozzy try to get up or walk is about the most hilarious thing I've ever seen.

It's seems strange to me that television was designed to let you escape from reality but most people use their televisions to run back to it.

Personally, I think that reality shows are just shit, and not only that, but extremely unrealistic.

Take Survivor for example. How realistic is it to put 16 people into a wilderness that has been tampered with to be safe? Not only that, but yet they are given numerous things for winning "challenges"? Fuck that. You want reality? Reality is people working 9-5 jobs, sitting on their asses in front of computers or watching kids at home. That's reality. And that would make one SHITTY tv show.
