Ok, i dont know if anybody else who works out REGULARLY i.e. 3+ times a week is having this problem, but i seem to be seeing a lot more fat bitches and out of shape dumbass guys start going to the gym, like a fucking month before spring break in hopes of losing some weight, gaining muscle, etc. I hate these people, and hope they all burn. They arent going to lose near as much weight as they want to, and they're just taking up the people who actually care about their bodies the other 11 months of the years' space. Bastards.

Many of these people go to the gym with the hopes of losing weight; however little do they realize that they have to eat right too. Weight loss is a two way street. If you eat a ton of McDonald's and Burger King and then go work out, it isn't going to do much. And these people are morons if they think that they can work out for about 2 hours every other day for only 1 month out of the year. It's all in the diet. Exercise does play a part, but it's the food that plays a role as well. Next time you see them, get that point across.

In retrospect Anky, you are correct, it is kind of selfish for me to take this standpoint. The first post was made when i was in a bad mood because of the situation on top of other things, so i can see how it can be misconstrued as such. These people deserve to be at the gym as much as everyone else, I think i'm just upset because it seems to me they're wasting their time and effort.

And DH, you are also right, it is possible to see slight results, i'm just being a bastard pretty much.

slight? you're using the wrong gear... it's not unheard of to gain 20+ pounds of muscle in a month if you use the right stuff.

Eating is a part of it, but when I was playing sports all 3 seasons my frosh year, I ate more than I ever have in my life and maintained at 140 lbs. Once I stopped playing basketball, my weight increased, so I'm going to go with exercise being most important.

It's not bad, I wish it was bigger, esp. this time of year. What i think you mean by the strength lab is the human performance building, which i have never been in myself, and i dont know if it is even accessible to people who arent part of testing program; however, i'll look into it. Irving Gym is the main gym here on campus, and its pretty large, and the equipment is really nice, i just wish it was bigger.
