I just locked myself out of my house and had to ride my bike to my girlfriend's mom's house to get the spare key. It's pretty close, but an unexpected 4 mile round trip bike ride at 9pm fucking blows. Thank god for California weather. Apparently it's snowing right now where quite a few of you live.

Why don't you have a hidden key somewhere?
Those rocks are fucking awesome. |

Because I'm fucking stupid. I did this about 6 months ago too. It's one of those, "Oh weak, I locked myself out. Where's the hide-a-key? Oh weak I never got one. Shit I'll get one tomorrow," things that never happens.
This time tomorrow for sure though. |

This is why I love Amazon.com
You never put off getting things you need. Its never ''Ill get one of those hide a key things tomorrow'' its ''Oh yeah I need a hide a key thing - ill order it on amazon right now and it will be here tomorrow '' |

Even if you don't have a rock hideaway, there are dozens of fucking places around one's house you can hide a spare.

I go with the "live in a nice neighborhood and leave your back door unlocked" method.

Sounds like someone needs to tip off some criminals that DD leaves his back door unlocked.

Don't lock myself out of the house much. Mainly because I need the key to lock up from the outside. When it happens it's done through the garage. I have been known to not know where keys are to conference rooms, cabinets, offices, etc. all of the time.

FML
last night I was alone at work all night, which makes simple things like going to the bathroom a logistical nightmare, some little Hispanic child joyfully walked around the store sucking on a sucker and drooling sugared red saliva all over the store ... this morning I have a 45 minute argument with my boss regarding whether or not she listens when I tell her things, she does not remember a time when she hasn't listened ... as I'm leaving work, I drop my phone damaging the screen, now I'm unable to get the contacts from my new phone to my old phone because I can't navigate the phones menus to add my contacts to the SIM card to use in my old phone ... then I go for a job interview, the manager says to me "i know we called you, but we don't have any open positions and none of the stores in the area do either" |

I'll be sure to text you some fucked up messages when I'm drunk some Friday night so you'll have my number.
Jokes aside, I think the folks at the Verizon store have a special tool that can transfer your contacts over. At least they did about ten years ago. |

Unfortunately I am with AT&T, their special device for transferring contacts over is this SIM card, you have to manually add them to the SIM card within the phone, which is functionally inoperable at this time.

Yes, allow me to clarify.
Phone A. and Phone B. Phone A. is a simple bar phone I had approximately two years ago. It automatically stored phone numbers to the SIM card. Phone B. is one of those hidden keyboard phones. I can text and call from the outside pseudo-touch interface, but thats it, and its generally a pain in the ass. Phone B stores contacts to the phone, not the SIM card. Hypothetically, Phone B has a menu option to transfer all contacts stored on the phone to the SIM card ... but since I broke the screen, I can't navigate the menus to do as such. AT&T requires a SIM card to give your phone its "Identity" like Stringer Bell's phone(s) in the Wire. So when I take the SIM card from Phone B, to put it into Phone A ... there are still numbers on it from two years ago when I bought Phone B, but nothing after that is stored there. The End |

He told me they would be doing interviews next week. I said "sounds fantastic, I'll talk to you then" and thanked him before moving along. Hopefully that is one positive thing that came out of yesterday's steaming pile of shit. | |

They pay their employees pretty well and have some some decent benefits like 401k w/ employer match, insurance, and stock purchase plan.
The downside is that it can be kind of hard work at times. As a manager, it probably won't be quite so rough though. Still, the store is fucking huge and you will have to walk all over that bitch. Also, I think you have to work like a minimum of 48 hours a week as a salary employee. edit: another upside is you get to drive lift-vehicles which is pretty fun. second edit: just realized that lowe's actually does have a third shift in higher volume stores. The night crew receives the merchandise from the trucks and stocks the shelves. In lower-volume stores, grunts like myself had to unload the fucking truck at 5 in the morning. |
