insurance companies are heartless cocksuckers

they should all rot in hell for the way they write life insurance policies. god forbid you fucking get sick before you die.

All insurance companies are bastards. The time you finally have to use them for anything they ask for more money. I especially hate car insurance, mainly due to speeding tickets, because for the most part I don't need car insurance. I have been in one accident and that was in high school and that was because someone decided to stop in the middle of the road at the bottom of a hill. But of course the day I don't have it will be the day I need it. Oh, I got a new car too, and three days later another speeding ticket. So it shall go up even more, I may as well just buy a bicycle since gas will cost so much I won't be able to afford that before long, that is unless I want to move back in with mommy. Oh, well, tis life.

:this most likely was irrelavent and pointless, so don't feel as though you need to point this out. Carry on.

Insurance companies aren't evil and life would be much worse without them.

You pay them to take risk.

Correct.

Niger, lets say that car parked at the bottom of the hill had 3 young kids in it. Lets also hypothetically say you didn't see that car because you were changing your cd (or something). Then, lets say that you slam into the car at 50+ mph, killing one and seriously injuring the other two. Medical costs and a settlement could theoretically run you into the millions. Paying 1500 a year seems like a reasonable fee in order to prevent such an incident, regardless of how unlikely it is.

car insurance and life insurance are VERY different. for your sake, i hope you dont have to learn that the hard way.

Insurance companies do tons of research, enough certainly to know that racking up lots of speeding tickets means you are probably an unsafe driver, and more prone to causing an accident.

And most companies have programs that can help you keep your monthly cost down, if you ask them about it.

Getting sick while you're still alive is what health insurance is for.

i understand that insurance companies rely on the assessment of risk. I also, much like djfc, identify with cerebral assesments of most life events, facts, etc, however, some situations/ scenarios are insulted by such thinking.
thats all i'm saying.
