Winamp is a piece of fucking shit.
 

I don't know if any of you guys still use it, but i've had nothing but problems with it on and off for the past year almost. I've been using it for so long and it used to work great, but right now it just is shutting down immediately after opening it. I've checked some forums, fucked with the compatibility options, uninstalled/reinstalled countless times, its still fucked. So fuck them. THEY HAVE LOST ME AS A CUSTOMER (....of a free product).

What do you guys use as a media player? I use VLC for movies and videos, but for audio? I refuse to use Itunes especially since I don't (and won't) own an Ipod, and WMP can blow me.

Just use the VLC player, that's what I use. Fuck every thing else. (Especially Itunes)

I'm not really for or against mac's, obviously that elitist crap is wrong, but being against something just because you don't like most of the people that use one is dumb.
I use itunes.
If I come across a good media player that no stereotype uses, i'll let you know.
Songbird looks like the closest match, i don't use it, but it looks good.

Edit : Just trying songbird now, it seems like a cross between winamp and itunes, the best thing about it is that its open source.

foobar is good. if you want it to look cool though, you will have to spend time customizing it tho.

its very nice program. most people with HUGe music collections would prob recommend it for windows..

I refuse to install Itunes on my computer because its basically a music player version of herpes, once its installed ... it won't go away and keeps wanting to infect you with other shitty apple programs. It's almost as bad as Realplayer was.

It installs quicktime. Outside of that, you're wrong.

It also adds fluff features that most don't need with every update.

The simplest solution? Tell it to stop checking for updates.

I stand by it as a terrific tool for managing a decently sized library of music...whether or not you have an ipod.
