I hate you. You are a heaping pile of elephant dung. I will never for the rest of my life purchase any sort of apple notebook or desktop. Your OS takes the most common of tasks and makes them difficult.
I thank God everyday that this is the last few hours I have with you before some unsuspecting sucker gets this from me. Wouldn't you know it I'm having huge problems backing you up onto an external hardrive with the hopes I can transfer files onto my new laptop. I expect nothing less from the worst purchase I've made in my entire life. How can you put out such a great product like my iPhone 4 and then put out a device with like intelligence.Burn in hell Mac |

I made the mistake of buying an imac back in 2000. It was the worst piece of computing shit I've ever had. Not to mention the fact that it was overpriced out the ass. I'm fairly certain that the cd-rom drive was defective since it never worked. Of course, Circuit City was absolutely no help, but they got what they deserved. It doesn't seem that Apple will meet the same fate though. Probably because, believe it or not, there are many faggots out there that have convinced themselves that macs are superior to windows based systems.
Apple has some good products like the ipod and iphone. Their computers are not one of those products. And I feel that there are probably other mp3 players that are much better than the ipod. There was clearly a bandwagon effect with ipod purchases. The ipod really is kind of a piece of shit. If you have one, drop it on the floor, it probably won't work again. When it comes to Apple products, they are all form with no substance. |

I like the iphone for the apps. It's a network effect. The more people use the iphone, the better the apps, the more people use the iphone...

I'm still a fan of the macs. Switched to them a couple of years ago. No longer have problems. My main bitch with windows seemed to be that I needed to constantly upgrade one thing to work with another. And I'd get about two years out of the CPUs along with annoying as freeze ups on the network.
My last straw was when a subscription software had to have vista to work. Got the vista upgrade and then my scanner and printer didn't work. HPs solution was to get a new scanner. Then the blue screen came up on one the CPUs. I fucking had enough. I'm not buying hardware to run software upgrades anymore. I still have my old compaq from 1993. It still runs the word perfect and spread sheet. It still would run ProDoc or BankPro software from then. The problem, both bankpro and prodoc are subscription now and only work with vista or windows 7. Fuck that. The maintenance on the Macs and the network has been nil. I've gone from a couple hundred per month of IT work to zilch. Don't like the snow leopard OS? Run something else on it. You can even install windows on your Mac. Something to think about before you get rid of it. |

So, BDH... what exactly are you having problems with?
I'm with AP on this one. I rarely have problems. I haven't paid a dime out of my pocket in the 2 1/2 years since I got my macbook. I did get apple care for a steal of $125 to ensure that no matter what happened, if I didn't drop it or throw it into a lake, I was covered. They clean the thing every time I took it in and replaced any cracks, keys, or buttons needing fixed. They took care of me, as a customer, which is something I could never say about any PC purchases. Viruses are slim to nil and the thing doesn't freeze nor crash and runs great on networks. So again, I ask... what are you having a problem with? Is it you or are you using a brand as the scapegoat for your own malfunctions? |

Top 100 Essential Mac Applications | Mac Tricks And Tips
Some pretty cool apps on here. Be careful though. Had my first experience with my mac that had me thinking I got a virus. I downloaded 4 or 5 apps, and then after about an hour my computer got slow as shit. I got a message pop up that said my startup disk space was low. When I checked it, it said about 200 mb were available when I should have closer to 10 gb. I deleted season 5 of dexter real quick (had already watched it). It freed about 5 gigs, then started dropping rapidly again. I restarted it and that has seemed to fix the problem. I read a few forums and got the impression it was a "runaway log" that was rapidly eating space, but easily deletable and not dangerous. I think it was the MacJanitor app, which after reading about apparently isn't necessary to use on newer macs anyway. Scary though. It felt like the titanic hitting the iceberg. |
