Psychedelics are illegal not because a loving government is concerned that you may jump out of a third story window. Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behavior and information processing.

Random cool photos, just reload the page for a new set, kinda like the myspace one like this, without all the camera held over your head died black hair slightly covering your right eye while not smiling pics. |

I don't know if any of you guys have heard of this site, but I found an episode while browsing around on Youtube...basically it's these short internet videos about this guy, Brandon, who is dating three chicks...a cop, a bossy corporate type woman, and a manic depressive tv host. Watch the episodes, it's pretty funny, especially Brandon's comments. There's like 13 of them now in the series, i'm watching the last one right now, in which Brandon gets high with his cop girlfriend, orders chinese, and finds a gay cop hanging out in the closet. |

Alright, so as an assignment for an Earth Science class, I have to explain to an elementary schooler why the earth is round, and not flat, as it appears.
Unfortunately, after a little research, I discovered that the Earth is indeed flat, and that I'm going to hell since I'm Catholic. The True Christian Church calls it like it is: http://www.truechristian.com/earthflat.html |

Not actually, I learned about the test from a book called blink, i recommend reading it, there was a hell of a lot of solid study going into these tests, and I'm pretty sure Harvard doesn't overlook little details like muscle memory in their studies, not to say that the website may be a little rough, but in professionally administered IATs, even black people were biased towards white people, it's a cultural bias

Do you not see that they train your brain that white is good and black is bad, and then reverse the roles? When your brain is trained to do something one way and then reverse, it reverts to its original training. I'm sure you've done the thumb over thumb experiment where whichever thumb you put on top the first time you ever did it, is the one you prefer and always try to revert back to.

It is definatly hard to overcome the muscle memory part of it, but I think they factor that into the results, plus if you slow down a little it helps.
Interesting note about the thumb over thumb thing, when I was younger I made an effort to switch the way I interlocked my hands. Whenever I notice something like that I wonder which way I normally do it and wonder if I do always do it that way or just happened to have this time...yea I think I'm OCD. |
