animes can be good, don't knock it till you try it, notice how i haven't called UB a teenage wigger for all the terrible rap he posts in DotD, because some of it isn't bad. we could make an anime thread though. not it.

class culture, has been accorded critical acclaim by various sections of the British media, including The Sun newspaper and Newsnight Review on BBC Two. Shameless is one of the most successful recent British TV programmes, a comedy with touching storylines and an ensemble cast make the most of a script fuelled by sex, drugs and alcohol.

New series just started, pretty good.

Archer is my favorite show as of late. Seriously, I wish I was him. All should watch the show, especially if you were a fan of Frisky Dingo.

Technically, the only similarity between Archer and Home Movies is that H. Jon Benjamin is a voice actor in both. He was also Master Shake in the live-action episode of Aqua Teen Hungerforce.

Adam Reed is at the helm of Archer, as he was for Sealab 2021 and Frisky Dingo. Home Movies was Brendan Small's brainchild (as is Metalocalypse).

The funniest voice actor (voice actors being fairly important in cartoons) in Home Movies is also the funniest voice actor in Archer. So technically, my point stands.

Yeah that was a pretty retarded point to make, DH. Simpsons and South Park, arguably two of the greatest shows on television are both cartoons.

I finally started watching Entourage and all I keep thinking is: how in the shit did it take me so long to start watching this unbelievable show?

Entourage is a show based around four friends from New York, one of whom is a newly minted movie star, trying to navigate their way around the unfamiliar terrain of Los Angeles. A fifth and crucial character is the movie star's agent, Ari, played by Jeremy Piven, that is hands down one of the best characters on a TV show I've seen. So in effect, there are five principal characters and each of them bring something special to the show and are all likable in their own ways.

The show is very dialog driven. I usually watch it with subtitles to avoid missing any great lines. It's produced by Mark Wahlberg and is actually loosely based on what his life was like when he first came out to L.A.

Pick up season one and watch the first two episodes. That's one hour of your time. You'll be hooked after that.

It's definitely a good show. But after you watch a few more seasons, in my opinion, it's just more of the same shit over and over. It gets very redundant.

If you want to watch probably the best show on television (or ever produced for that matter) you need to watch Eastbound and Down. Holy fucking shit is that show awesome. So many lines that have undiminishing comedy value. You're fuckin out!

As far as network television series go, I'm a big fan of the office, although this latest season has been somewhat disappointing thus far. I also just started watching the series "V", I'm assuming it stands for vagina, but for some reason the show claims it stands for visitors. As I said, I've only watched the first episode, but it was rather interesting if you can get past the obvious political messages hidden within it. I tried, but they were hitting me in the face like a pair of DDs. Still an interesting premise though.

I'm into the third season now and I can definitely see where this could start to become the case. But to those of you who haven't seen an episode, don't let the fact that after 40 or so episodes it might start to seem redundant stop you from watching episodes 1-39.

Re: Eastbound and Down. I saw the whole first season and yea, it's a funny show. I don't know about "best show on TV", but certainly funny. The whole show is basically hinged on one character though, so I don't know how much mileage they'll get out of it. Are they planning a second season? Or is it already out and I'm just way out of touch?

The last I heard the second season was scheduled to come out in late Feburary, but I don't have HBO so I'm not sure.

Did you know it's produced by Will Farrell? The guy's a comedy genius, I'm sure they can get at least five seaons out of it.

Entourage is great, I'm a long time fan. The Val Kilmer cameo is one of my favorite scenes from that show. It picks up at about the 1:50 mark.

Gentlefolks, I've breathed fresh life into this thread for one reason: To urge you all to do whatever is necessary to watch True Blood.

It's a show that I heard a lot of talk about but dismissed as probably shitty.

I was wrong.

It's not shitty. It's badass. And it has a storyline that will hook you after a single fucking episode. Also, it makes me want to be a vampire pretty badly.

Does anybody want to start a vampire gang with me?

I was for sure that this had been talked about somewhere else on Nubblies. I was wrong.

True Blood is one of the best things to come out of HBO in a LONG time imo. I watched every episode as it came out from the first season, and caught up on the second season last year when I first got to Korea. To the nay-sayers who might bring up the whole "vampires are popular again blah blah twilight/etc. etc.", the vampires in this series are fucking kick ass real vampires. The behavior of some of the lead vampires, (Notably Eric, who I i liked more and more every single episode) and the way they work in the traditional lore with some much needed gore and cleverness after all this Twilight fairy prancing around bullshit is genius.

This show makes you honestly want to be a vampire.

For those that haven't seen it, one of the most clever things about the show is that it superimposes the existence of vampires as a knowable, everyday fact of life in an alternate reality of Earth, in current times (takes place in a fictional town in Southern Louisiana). What's so interesting sociologically about it is that the way it is viewed (especially in the South, and more conservative parts of the world as we are led to believe through news reports) through the looking glasses of Blacks fighting for their civil rights in the 60's ("Equal rights for vampires!) and all the violence that came along with it...except with the added badassery that vampires are actually superior beings. It also adds in the notoriety of being an "open vampire" so to speak or "fraternizing with vampires" aka fucking them or letting them drink your blood (this doesn't turn you, automatically, I like that part), associating this idea with homosexuality and how uncomfortable it makes people. ("God hates Fangs"). The second season focuses more (often comically) on a far right evangelical sect of Christianity who has taken it upon themselves to destroy this demonspawn, and it's quite scary how close a supposedly fictional church can come to IRL evangelists.

On top of all the sex, violence and interesting societal parallels, there are just some awesomely written characters. The vampire Sheriff Eric, whom I previously mentioned, Lafayette (probably my favorite--a hilarious southern black flamboyantly gay yet totally badass diner cook), and Jason Stackhouse being some of them.

Some bad parts: Too much twilight-esque romance between Bill and Sookie (God, how fun is it to say "SOOKIE!!" in Bill's accent?) and Sookie and Tara's characters in general. Tara was cool for a while, but she started to really piss me off in the second season, with her fucking overly-nigger attitude that simply wasn't necessary for her her role. And Sookie's character, played by gap-toothed Rogue Anna Paquin, I just can't fucking stand. Actually I don't know too many people who think much of her at all in the series, even though she's the main character. But there is always enough going on in the show where it's worth dealing with her dumbassery. You should watch this show.

The last half of the second season got a bit weird, but it was still totally addicting, and it left it as a good cliffhanger at the end of Season 2. Has Season 3 started yet? Is it soon?

EDIT: Shit just watched that gif and didn't recognize it, guess it started up while I was on my trip. Looks like I have some torrenting to do.

Psychedelics are illegal not because a loving government is concerned that you may jump out of a third story window. Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behavior and information processing.

Glad I'm not the only one that compulsively does that.

And it's 4 episodes deep on season 3, episode 5 coming in a couple of days.
