February 4, 2003 was National Signing day for incoming college football players.

I am somewhat amused at my boy Ty Willinmgham's recruiting. It's "solid" for the most part.

Ty went out and got himself two new quarterbacks: Darrin Bragg and David Wolke.

Bragg and Wolke might not have been smart recruits for Ty, due to him now having 3, count em, 3 very young quarterbacks. He's still trying to get Brady Quinn organized.

Here's a list that I agree with about 80%.

Banda, Abdel LB 6-2 215 Orange, NJ (Delbarton)
Bragg, Darrin QB 6-2 185 San Jose, CA (Bellarmine Prep)
Brown, Justin DE/SAM 6-4 225 Clinton, MD (Bishop McNamara)
Crum, Maurice, Jr. LB 6-1 215 Riverview, FL (Tampa Bay Tech)
Duerson, Tregg DB/KR 5-10 170 Highland Park, IL (Loyola)
Ferrine, Leo DB 6-0 180 Springfield, NJ (St. Peter's Prep)
Hoskins, Justin RB 6-0 195 Grand Rapids, MI (Creston)
Incarnato, Chauncey OL 6-6 280 Dover, OH (Dover)
Jabbie, Junior DB 5-11 190 Parlin, NJ (The Hun School)
Kadous, John OL 6-7 310 Tucson, AZ (Salpointe Catholic)
Lambert, Terrail DB 5-10 190 Oxnard, CA (St. Bonaventure)
Nicolas, Brandon DL/OL 6-5 275 Santa Ana, CA (Mater Dei)
Talley, Ronald DE 6-4 245 Oak Park, MI (Renaissance)
Vaughn, Chris WR 6-4 205 New Haven, CT (St. Thomas More)
Vernaglia, Anthony OLB/SS 6-4 220 Anaheim Hills, CA (Orange Lutheran)
Walker, Darius RB 5-11 200 Lawrenceville, GA (Buford)
Wolke, David QB 6-4 205 Mt. Juliet, TN (Smyrna)

And anyone who's anyone that follows college football, please feel free to find your teams recruits for 2004 and post them.

I'm not going to doubt Ty, I'll stick with him on these, I just hope we can get back on the winning track.

Solid are you shitting me if i'm not mistaken ND didnt even finish in the top 20 classes, TY did a piss poor job, and frankly it tells me that he'll only be in South Bend only a few more years.

OSU's class will finish 5th they brought in a few solid recruits including Ted Ginn the defensive player of the year, and rivals.com #2 overall recruit.

OSU class landed alot of solid lb's, dl's, ol's, db's.
Here isthe rest of their recruits.

The "solid" comment was a sarcastic crack on Ty's recruiting.

Now that that is out of the way. I still disagree with the selection of two young quarterbacks. They found a replacement for Courtney Watson, but unless they move another player into that spot (DB/LB), it appears there will be a true freshman starting in the defensive heart of the Irish.

With these new additions and Brady Quinn and Jeff Smardja looking like they will have the system down by 2005, and Ryan Grant going into a "step up" situation. The Irish need to mature quickly if they want us loyalists to stay happy with them. Guess we'll see by August.

You still need to get extra qb's in your locker room. OSU had 4 last year, and including a grey shirt baseball player turned quaterback, have 4.

I feel sorry for ND though, playing USC the next three years will be really rough.

I know, I just saw the USC recruitments class for 2004. We will need all the help we can get beating those cockgobblers. I'm smelling upset in the green uniforms next season.

As for your Buckeyes, Good home grown talent. Thanks for letting us have a few.

I'll smell pretty damn upset if we try to go up against USC in green uniforms. I'd probably lose all faith whatsoever.
