Combine the 2 things I feel the most passionate about, and you get USA basketball. I care more about winning a gold medal in the olympics in basketball then alot of other things in my life. The last olympics was obviously a complete dissapointment. I have a bad feeling about this year's team to. I went back and watched alot of 92' olympic videos of the olympics. That team was so dominate.

The Culture of the game has evolved and the USA is trying to get into the internatial style of play. With the guys they bring in, that will never happen. Ego's abound. Coach K can only do so much. I will be rooting for a Gold Medal, but until they get the best 12 college players in the nation, I'm not sure if they can pull off what the 92' team did.

The main difference about this USA team is a lack of Allen Iverson. AI was the worst thing to happen to USA basketball and his awful ability to work as a teammate. I'm not thrilled about Kobe being on the team, but Coach K will likely use his brilliance to keep it a team game. I'm sure all of you can agree that the best 15 NBA players are not on this years team, but it is more a group of players who can play together and involve some role-players (like Battier.) I believe this team will win gold because Coach K picked the team and is coaching them. With LeBron, Wade, and Chris Paul starting, Team USA can dish first instead of shoot first like it did 4 years ago.

I think they should have auditioned this team vs Dream Team '92. Bring all of them back for a scrimmage against the '08 team just to make sure they wouldn't be a better option.

Russia gave them a run for their money early this morning in exhibition play. Spain is flat out legit. I thought with Coach K, things would be more structured around a team oriented offense. Last night they went away from that late in the 2nd quarter and went to a more 1 on 1 style of play. In order to win gold, they can't do that. USA has a rough ass pool play bracket as well. Even if they go undefeated in pool play, they are going to have to play full tilt to do so. That will effect the way they play in the tourney later on. I can't wait for 08/08/08!!! I will be waking up @ 3 A.M. to watch their first game!

Coach K is the master of team ball, he'll see the problems in these exhibition games and fix it for the real deal

I hope so, but I find it hard to believe that Kobe Bryant, a guy that didn't even go to college, is going to listen to Coach K when they are playing Spain or Italy and it's a close game. If Phil Jackson can't hone him into playing team ball in tough spots, I doubt Coach K will. I love coach K. I have read his book leading with the heart 3 times, but I don't think even he can control some of these egos. Hope he can, but I have my doubts.
