How is it either of those numbers? Shouldn't it be 1/2^32? Which is 1/4.2 billion? Which would mean the odds of a perfect bracket (coinflip style) is 1/2^63, or 1 in 9223372036854775808.

These were the calculations that I had come up with in my head. I was always getting bitched at for not showing my work in math class.

Teams aren't 50% to win their games, it's more like 75% in the first round (if you pick all favorites), 66% second round, etc...

Agree on it being the best tourney. I thought we were in trouble when the sweet 16 was set and we'd get numerous blowouts. Not so... every single game in and between the west/midwest brackets was close.

In other news, how upset must Dirty Harry be that he doesn't have a Golden N because he's a dipshit and signed up on a dummy account.
