![]() Goddamn that was a horrible ending, Floyd is such a cocksucker; he lives in some sort of parallel universe.
For those that didn't see; Ortiz headbutts Floyd, gets point deducted, they sort of shake hands hugs, ref is looking away, Floyd basically sucker punches him for the KO. Now obviously the rules say protect yourself at all times, but as far as I saw, there was no official restart after the official stoppage to take away the point. Floyd didn't need to either, he looked better than he has in his last few fights, and a right handed south paw is perfect for him. On the positive side, Larry Merchant wasn't having any of Floyd's shit. |

![]() Yea, Ortiz doesn't deserve any sympathy. Basically only the fans do. Horrible referring by Cortez, not even looking at the fighters as he called time in, which he did backwards, should have told the time keeper then the fighters, not vice versa.
Mayweather was using his elbows all night, which had to be annoying for Ortiz, especially as his camp brought it up constantly before the fight, but Cortez still did nothing about it. Floyd really ruined what would have been a showpiece fight for him, that could have won over a ton of fans. He was moving forward more than normal, and having a right handed southpaw in front of him was allowing him to land straight rights all night, and it would have continued until Ortiz's corner or a doctor stopped the fight later on. He was really putting some heat on his punches, and those right hand leads would have added up quickly; he was throwing hard left hooks after jabs too, not something he normally does. Basically he could have gone some distance to show he isn't always a boring defensive fighter, but decided to take a cheap, borderline legal, yet horribly shitty way out of the fight. Yes his asshole personality may sell tickets, but he really is an asshole, it's not all a show, plus he could have been even bigger if he wouldn't have been an asshole his whole life; there is a reason Pacquiao is a bigger draw. Floyd is just such a strange guy, he lives in a parallel universe it seems; he just doesn't quite get it. |

![]() I can't put into words the level of rage I had at the ending of that fight. My complete drunkenness didn't help the situation. But I'm not sure I've ever hated a man as much as I hated Floyd Mayweather last night.
Beebs, will we ever seen Pack vs Floyd? |

![]() For the past several years, local's casinos in Vegas have offered odds on the Pac/Mayweather fight with a caveat that is must take place by the end of the calender year. They get how easy it is to just hold on to people's money and collect interest for up to a year.

![]() I think we'll see it, but by the time we see it, pac will be on the downslope. There's so much money to be made. But Mayweather won't fight him while he looks as good as he does right now.

I guess I think it's possible, but Floyd sees more value in keeping his undefeated record safe, than the extra money he would make fighting Pac and possibly losing it. With other fighters Floyd gets to keep the vast majority of the purse, whereas with Pac it will be 50/50 at best for him. I think Floyd just values the record more, both as a financial asset and for ego. | |

![]() This fight will happen, but it will happen when it no longer matter. Boxing is dead. They need two big ass heavyweights to beat this shit out of the CLITsko brothers to bring back some relivence. I'm now hearing how these 2 are on Lennox Lewis' level which is complete bullshit. After one TKO, they are trying to crown them. I say if you want to crown them, then crown there ass, but they are who I think they are.

![]() I hate them. As heavyweight fighters, they are soft. If there was any type of talent in the division, they wouldn't be dominating.

![]() Wlad is kind of soft; Vitali is a tough motherfucker. They can both be a little cautious, especially Wlad because his chin requires it, but they both have pretty impressive attacks.
In terms of talent; Wlad did win a gold medal in the olympics, and both are more technically sound than most heavyweights. It's not that the talent level has really dropped, people are always saying that (except when Ali, Frazier, and Foreman were all viable fighters), it's that the talent has shifted; prior to the break up of the USSR, there were no pro fighters coming from Eastern Europe, which is now home to most of the talent at HW. The 3rd best HW right now is Aleksandr Povetkin, a Russian, and until Povetkin beat him, Ruslan Chagaev, an Uzbekistani, was right there as well, he is still a top 10 fighter easily. |

![]() Tyson was the last exciting heavyweight to the average fan. I liked Holyfield too, but didn't care much for Lewis, who's under appreciated. I don't know. Boxing is dying, and it will take a champ that transcends the sport (for better or worse) like a Tyson, to stop the bleeding.

![]() I agree with Lewis. Some of his tactics were tough to stomach, much like the klitschkos. Difference is, Lewis still had the power to finish fights. He still beat some of the top heavyweights there was to offer. I know Tyson and Holyfield were out of their prime, but regardless. Maybe if I wasn't so blood thrusty, I wouldn't hate the Klitschkos so much.
