We all listen to music. We all have our own styles and groups and whatnot that we prefer to spin. But, what about that music that would normally go against your usual musical grain? The music you hate to love.
We all have something. Even if it's just one song. Me? Well, I've always been a huge fan of Jewel... but thats not too wierd. I also have always found Usher's music pretty spiffy. I don't know why, i hate most of that black mtv rap bullshit. I don't know why, I guess thats why I hate to love it. Oh, on the same note, I sorta like how 50cent sings a few lines of his new single... Com'on now! You all have some guilty pleasure in your musical jukebox, spill it! |

Lessee here....sometimes I enjoy listening to bubblegum pop, like N'sync, or Backstreet Boys, and I definately like dancing to it. It just has really good beats and shit.
Avril Lavigne. I hated 'Skater Boi', but there are times when I get 'I'm With You' or, 'Complicated' in my head, and I can't get it out....and I don't mind. I love Jewel's stuff, especially with that sultry voice. Gold. There's more, but I need to think. |

Indeed pliedes, I recommended T.A.T.U. on the Reviews/Recommusak thread, did you catch that?
You should get "Not Gonna Get Us" (very hard dance) and "How Soon Is Now?" (very rocky). They're really good. Have you listened to Usher's "My Way" yet? It's seriously one of his best. I'm not ashamed of any music I listen to. I have Mandy Moore and Vanessa Carlton both on my computer. Not ashamed. Never have I been, or never will I be ashamed of any music I listen to. Heard "What Child Is This?" or "Greensleeves"? (same song, different lyrix). Vanessa Carlton does this swankass version of "Greensleeves", it's amazing. She's amazing. Speaking of *NSYNC, the only song by them I've ever like at all, and I like it a lot is... ... ... oh yeah, "Gone" I think it is. The melodicizing that takes place in that song is excellent. Too bad the fucksores didn't write it. Oh wait... shit... I forgot... There is a band I'm ashamed to admit I listen to... I listen... to... Seraphim. Ugh... I have to go take a shower, I feel so disgusting... |

I know that this topic may be a little bit outdated, but I was thinking about it the other day... when I first read pliedes' post I thought that there was no music selection that I listen to that is shameful in any sort of light, but as I got to thinking about it more a few came to mind:
Justin Timberlake (just the solo stuff, not the *NSYNC crap) Duran Duran Milli Vanilli (who cares if they couldn't sing? At least they blamed it on the rain) 70's power rock (you know that stuff that had no musical substance and al sounded the same? i.e. Boston, Kansas, The Eagles, etc.) Thats all for now... ------------------ :.:.: Me Gustan Nalgas :.:.: |

I'm bringing back the thread... so, yeah.
Musical Guilty Pleasure: Rock, electric or other alternative music with violin or some orchestral string accompaniment. Examples: Oasis - Don't Look Back in Anger Moby - My Weakness Everclear - Science Fiction Bush - Glycerin There's others too, but if anybody knows of any songs that would fit this concept, let me know. |

Goo Goo Dolls is good shit. I'd have to say that my biggest one is probably Boyz II Men. It takes me back to the elementary school days...but come on...One Sweet Day, Motown Philly...good stuff. Oh, and jazz...I'm a big jazz fan. From Louis Armstrong to Miles Davis, dat dere's tasty.

Glycerine is a classic, as is Don't Look Back In Anger, and Moby's My Weakness is a greattin'! |
