In Titanistic fashion, I would like to offer up a review of the Red Hot Chili Pepper's newest album, By The Way.

1. By The Way-Perhaps the record's biggest hit single, the song takes you through a radio-friendly, highly-energized look at what the Red Hot Chili Peppers are all about. Of all the songs on the album, this is probably the one you have heard the most.
Album Rank: 4 of 16

2. Universally Speaking-This song slows down a little bit from the first song on the album. It has a nice little, catchy melody, and is a damn good song for singing along in the car....but that's about it.
Album Rank: 13 of 16

3. This Is The Place-This song starts out with a kick-ass bass intro. The lyrics are really damn good, and there is a lot of funky-sounding background noices. On the whole, this song has a great melody, and is pretty damn good.
Album Rank: 9 of 16

4. Dosed-This is by far the most beautiful song on the album. A gorgeous guitar intro is followed up by Anthony Kiedis' (lead singer) high-pitched lyrics. The melody is brilliant, and the message it delivers is second to none on this album.
Album Rank: 1 of 16

5. Don't Forget Me-Flea (the basist) leads this song off with one of his many kick-ass bass intros. I do get the sense that the song "drags" at time, and it never really quite develops into what you would hope that it would.
Album Rank: 11 of 16

6. The Zephyr Song-Perhaps the second most "radio-friendly" song on the album (next to "By The Way"), it makes you think of a far-away land when you hear it. A damn gorgeous song.
Album Rank: 5 of 16

7. Can't Stop-Off all of the songs on this album, this one has the best melody. I hear this song, and it nearly pisses me off that these guys can come up with shit like this, and I can't. Often flips back and forth with "Dosed" for best song on the album in my eyes.
Album Rank: 2 of 16

8. I Could Die For You-The song lags at the beginning, you get the sense that they should have sped it up a bit or something. The melody is pretty nice....but unfortunetly, some songs have to get a low ranking. They make the higher-ranked ones that much better.
Album Rank: 14 of 16

9. Midnight-The prettiest guitar parts are heard on this absolutely mellow song. I often tell people I feel like I should be smoking a joint when I hear this song. It just relaxes you like none other.
Album Rank: 3 of 16

10. Throw Away Your Television-If someone told me that I had to cut one song off of the album, this song would be it. It's not that it's a bad song....it just doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the songs. I like the message it is trying to deliver, but the song just isn't that great.
Album Rank: 16 of 16

11. Cabron-It is tough for me to give this song such a bad rating, but it also just doesn't seem to fit in the album. This was the first song I ever heard on the album (I downloaded it before I bought the album, just to get a sense of what was on the album), and when I first heard this song, I asked myself, "Is this really the Red Hot Chili Peppers?? ....'cause it doesn't sound like them".
Album Rank: 15 of 16

12. Tear-This is one of the better songs on the album. The two songs before it were probably the worst two on the CD, but they completely make up for it here. A friend tells me that the melody of this song sounds like something "Jesse and the Rippers" off of Full House would play, and now everytime I listen to it, I see them playing it in my mind's eye. Seriously, listen to this song, and picture John Stamos singing it, it fits like a glove, a fucking glove.
Album Rank: 6 of 16

13. On Mercury-The song has this certain "cajun" feel. "Cajun" and the "Chili Peppers" don't go good together. (Even though you would think that they should judging by the name of their band).
Album Rank: 12 of 16

14. Minor Thing-This song will probably be released to the radio sometime soon. It is a very "radio-friendly" song. But not always is the "radio-friendly" song, the best song. It's got a decent melody and shit, but it just doesn't really do it for me all the way.
Album Rank: 8 of 16

15. Warm Tape-It has this whole "psycadelic" thing going on, but it tends to drag on at times. The melody is alright, but it's really not that great. This song I could easily live without....but it's still pretty damn good, (which gives you an idea of how good the whole album is).
Album Rank: 10 of 16

16. Venice Queen-The guitar strumming on this song could bring a music-fan to tears. It is an absolutely gorgeous song. It will probably never be realeased to the radio, but it is probably better than most of the songs that will be released to the radio off of this album. A great song to complete a great album.
Album Rank: 7 of 16[/list]
On the whole, this could possibly be the Pepper's best album....and one of the best albums of our generation.

It's just one of those CDs you can buy, and just listen to the whole thing, and never skip around to the "good songs", because they're all good songs.

By the way, I know most of you have listened to this album many-a-time, and I await your thoughts on it.

Nice one UB. I find your review overall pretty accurate. Dosed and Can't Stop are my two favourites as well. Though in my book Don't Forget Me would have ranked higher, but that's just the view from my vantage point.

I don't know enough about the Jesse and the Rippers Full House to envision your view of "Tear". But ever since pliedes noticed that it sounds (besides vocally) that it could be one of the lost Beatles tracks, that's what I picture. I do know that Jesse and the Rippers staring Mr. Pickens kicks ass though! *cough*

I, personally, would have ranked "On Mercury" as the worst song on the album. It's good, and it's good ska, good fun. But I tell you what, that godamned fucking trumpet in the background never fucking shuts up from beginning to end and it fucking drives me nuts!

I'm very glad you ranked the songs, that was a good effort by you. I find that very hard to do with most albums, and therefore have not included it in any of my reviews.

Venice Queen is the last track on the album, and like in "One Hot Minute" the last track is very progressive and becomes one of the standout tracks because of this. It is beautiful.

If you ask me, if you want to download the highlights before you purchase it (and you ARE going to purchase it), here's my list of the top dawgs, which will somewhat reflect Ugly's picks:
1. Dosed
2. Can't Stop
3. Tear
4. Venice Queen
5. Don't Forget Me
6. Midnight

As a last note, Mr. Rick Rubin did a pretty good job on here, and like many of the Red Hot Chili Peppers albums, he made sure that it plays louder than most CD's, so that you can get it louder total. The only thing that pisses me off is that he made the vocals way too loud on alot of this album. Now someone smart like pliedes would say "But the vocals are key in the album" and I would agree. However, for this lead singer anyway, who is used to hearing vocals first and foremost when listening to a track, the vocals kind of block out your subconscious perception of the other parts of the music, and you miss out on how much depth and beauty really is present in the music. Which is, actually, a good reason as to why you should by this album and spend a long time listening to it.

Thank you for posting this UB, you have done a charitable deed to our fellow nubblietes. You have also inspired me to review...

DUHN DUHN DUHN!

*spotlight*
*camera zooms in on Titan's face*

The lost... album...

By this I am of course referring to "One Hot Minute". This you would know, if you are a Chili fan, is the album that always got the bad reviews and is always thought to be "unsuccessful". Much of the criticism from this album was received because of the new guitarist (Dave Nevarro) and more grungy, dark rock style - as opposed to the more wierd funk they had been used to.

This was the first Chili album I owned, and regardless of what the critics say, this album OWNS. This is a masterpiece. There is so much inside of this that expresses the deepest soul of the band. It is not as developed as "Californication" or "By the Way", it delivers just as fantastic of a ride through the psyche of the band and through your own hectic life.

I'll wait till we get done commenting on "By the Way" to get started on that though. I look forward to more reviews from you, you Ugly Sunuvabitch.

Yes, "One Hot Minute" is a GREAT fucking album. And you are right when you say that it is their "lost" album. I would also contest that "Mother's Milk" could be considered a "lost" Pepper's album.

As far as One Hot Minute goes, I like the songs, Aeroplane, My Friends, Tearjerker, Transcending, and Pea.

It is a helluvan album, but not nearly as good as "By The Way".

While I agree with you on the greatness of the album, and it's importance as one of the greatest albums of our time, I have to disagree with you on the ranking of the songs.

Usually my rankings are around the same as most others, but after listening to the album for a while, there are certain songs that grow on me, and some songs that I get disenchanted with.

Here's how I would rank them. I believe that people are going to think that I am a weird fucker for this, but in level of importance and meaning to me, this is how I see the album.

1) Venice Queen - I seriously think that this song could not kick any more ass than it already does. I really like progression songs that work (such as "Paranoid Android" by Radiohead) and this one has everything that I love in multi-faceted music.

2) Don't Forget Me - I loved this song from the very beginning, and it hasn't left that special spot in my heart. There is a simplistic taste to it that I love...the pattern is just genius.

3) Midnight - The beginning of this song gives me chills. As UB says, it is a great relaxing song.

4) On Mercury - I. Jam. To. This. Song. So. Fucking. Hard. I love the trumpet in the background as well. Just a damn catchy tune.

5) Minor Thing - The lyrics feel very...mischevious...to me. Just like play on words, and I think that this song is a great example of Keidis' lyrical babbly genius.

6) Throw Away Your Television - This is another one of those that I love to rock out to. I didn't like this song at first, but then I listened to the dexterity of the harmonies on "Renegades and fancy gauges/ pull the plug and it's contagious" (I believe those are the lyrics...don't have them with me right now) and this song really achieved a whole new level. It's the black sheep of the album, and maybe that's why I love it so much.

7) Dosed - I love it for the same reasons as all of you do, it just doesn't connect with me in the same way as the previous ones. Don't know why.

8) This Is The Place - I don't know why, but the bridge of this song just makes it great for me. Fucking equivalent of living in the atom split. Great stuff.

9) Universally Speaking - The Red Hot Chili Peppers seemed to integrate a simplistic style in a few tracks of these songs and it really really works for me in this song. The drum part is incredibly straight-forward and it just keeps the flow of the song so damn well. It is a great song to sing along with in the car. I think the finish of this song just wraps it up in a great style too.

10) By The Way - When this song first came out on the radio, I was addicted to it. But there really isn't a flow in the song at all, and it disrupts my music enjoyment some time. I still think it's a damn great song, and it's a great nod to their more funk and bass style, but the contrasting parts just clash. I do absolutely love the harmonies on the chorus though.

11) Can't Stop - It's a bit long, and it's a great song, but the ending could have been laid out better. It sets you up during the song for a big finish, and it just abruptly seems to end. I don't know, I still think that this is a damn great song, but in the big picture, not one of my favorites. It's funny, cause this one was my favorite when I first got the album.

12) The Zephyr Song - Remember how I was talking about the simplistic style that seems to be integrated into this album? How I said that it worked for some songs? I really don't think that it worked for this song. The chorus is damn catchy, and the verses are great as well, but there's not much else to this song. It's a bit too straightforward, and I really can't explain what I mean.....

13) Tear - I do see the comparison to the Beatles in this song, and I really do like it, but sometimes when I'm on a quick car trip, I skip this song. It just doesn't stand out for me.

14) Warm Tape - Yup. Just read what UB says.

15) Cabron - Same thing that you guys ranked it lower, it just doesn't seem to fit with me. It's a good song, but a bit too....peppy.

16) I Would Die For You - For me, I think this is the throwaway track. Just doesn't meld with me at all, and I agree that it is just a bit too slow. However, the RHCP are able to do slow songs, and pull them off with grace and style. But with this one, it seemed like they wanted a louder feel to a slower song, and it just didn't work.

Thus concludes my rankings. I just want to let everyone know that this took me 45 minutes to do....that's dedication to my Chili Peppers.

I have to say that any negative comment about any of the songs should be taken in the light that I still listen to the album straight through and can't get enough of it. I love each and every song, just not every song is a highlight. This is one of the most consistent albums though, in terms of originality and pure fucking greatness. You really can't look for more of a masterpiece than with By The Way.

Oh, and I've been wanting to do some reviews of my own. Look soon for 'Combat Chuck Reviews The Radiohead Albums'. Yep, I'm tackling all the Radiohead that I own. I don't have Pablo Honey, but I'm familiar with most of the songs off of it....I might include it, but to me, definitive Radiohead started with The Bends.

I'll have those up when I recuperate from my injury.

Yeah, I can understand that. I have a very strange music taste that is very much my own. Alot of people don't understand it, and sometimes I don't. However, I know what I like, and I don't just like a song because it's radio friendly.

I knew that alot of people would think that I was crazy because of my rankings. But I risked it anyway, because this is a place where people are themselves, and they speak their minds. You may have lost respect of my music taste, but I still think that I know what I'm talking about. It's not like I'm just saying "Boy Howdy, that there was a knee-slapper! It's now my favreet songer!"

I have opinions, but I back them up. I always make sure that I at least have that.

Do you see where I'm coming from?

I'm going to start this post off by agreeing with you a little, because frankly, from that last post, I do disagree with you alot. And frankly again, I lost alot of musical respect for you my friend.

Venice Queen is quite comparable to "Paranoid Android" which is also one of my alltime favourite Radiohead songs. Here's a note for the kiddies: The progressive songs are always the ones that last the longest, that's because they have the least catchy stuff, that takes a while to grow on you, and when it does, it stays. Much like "Reflection" and "Lateralis" and "Pushit" by Tool.

I enjoy "Throw Away Your Television" very much. It's very high up there on my "Songs That I Rock Out to from By the Way". However, I heavily disagree with you that it is the "black sheep" of the album. If any song is the black sheep, it's "Cabron" with it's flagrant Southwest flavour, or "On Mercury" with it's quite blunt Ska hooks. Neither of these are near as comparable to what we have heard by the Peppers, and what else is on By the Way as "Throw Away Your Television". After listening to this album more, I do like "On Mercury"'s chorus alot, and the vocals are good... that's about it for me though.

The extremely monotonous beat in "Universally Speaking" DOES keep the song moving along really well... FOR THE FIRST FEW MINUTES. But then it just keeps going and going. And no one here can accuse me of not being open minded to simple monotonous beats. My favourite music genre is techno. 'Nuff said there.

quote:
Can't Stop - It's a bit long, and it's a great song, but the ending could have been laid out better. It sets you up during the song for a big finish, and it just abruptly seems to end.

And here, Chuck, is where I call you a big freaking moron, and lose almost all musical respect I have ever had for you. This is one of the greatest endings to a song ever created.
Have you actually listened to the end of the song? 'Cuz I'm pretty sure that slowly dropping out the layers until the very last measure is just Anthony Keidis calling out with his bare naked vocals that you "Can't stop the spirits when they need you, this life is more than just a read through." There are few songs that can make you rock your socks off and also hold alot of emotion (well, not for Tool) and this song is one of them. This song makes you want to get off your ass and make something right with the world.

I've finally figured out what it is, while trying to comprehend how you could put "Tear" as #13/16. During your search to find new and different music that no one else out there is listening to, because, you know, that's what makes a band good, I think a bit-too-generous dosage of Guster and Jimmy Eat World have warped your brain, and twisted your perception of tempo.

quote:
Cabron - Same thing that you guys ranked it lower, it just doesn't seem to fit with me. It's a good song, but a bit too....peppy.

Ummm... hello... yet you ranked "On Mercury" #4/16... right... 'cuz... that's not peppy... at all...

For me, Radiohead started with a guitar jolting in my brain whilst listening to "Creep". But whatever Chuck, you're the Radiohead man, you go right ahead and just take ALL of the Radiohead albums. As if pliedes, myself, Ugly Bastard or anyone else has no desire to review at least one of them... or maybe at least one of the songs please? That's like me taking ALL the Red Hot Chili Pepper albums that I own, or ALL the Tool albums that I won, or ALL the incubus albums that I own. Anyway, having said that, you probably would do a better job anyway. Ah fack... sometimes it seems like you go out of your way to listen to different music, and THEN you like it... but then again I think and I know you know better than that and it's probably just me and the effects of everyone listening to shite and having absolutely no reason at all.

See... it's when you purposely say things like that, that makes me think that you want to make it known that you listen to music OTHER than radio-friendly, and that you're not giving proper respect or time to listen to some bands or songs or music that may be radio-friendly, simply because they ARE radio-friendly.

Ah geez, look at the huge fucking monster that I have created.

Titan, you of all people should know that I listen and accept a FUCKING SHITLOAD OF MUSIC. My CD collection spans a ton of genres, which include classics, and shit that no one has ever heard before.

I DO NOT FUCKING GO OUT OF MY WAY TO FIND MUSIC THAT NOBODY LIKES AND SAY THAT I LIKE IT JUST TO BE FUCKING DIFFERENT.

Titan, to say the least, your last post hit me on a very personal level. Very personal. You know that music is one of my treasured passions, and that without it, my life would be a helluva lot worse. Music is my escape, my personality, something that I can call my own, and yet still share with everyone so that they can enjoy it as well.

I came on here with an opinion. I told you guys:

quote:
Here's how I would rank them. I believe that people are going to think that I am a weird fucker for this, but in level of importance and meaning to me, this is how I see the album.

THIS IS ME. THIS IS MY MUSIC TASTE.

I fucking hate you guys come on here, look at my picks and tell me that you lost respect for my musical taste with my picks.

HOW DARE YOU FUCKING TELL ME THAT YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO SAY THAT MY OPINION IS WRONG AND THAT MY MUSIC TASTE ISN'T AS GOOD AS YOURS, AND THAT MY PERCEPTION OF MUSIC, AND HOW I INTERPRET IT ISN'T AS WELL THOUGHT-OUT OR AS LOGICAL AS YOURS?

I am seriously mashing my fingers into the keyboard right now, and if my two fingers weren't already broken before, they are now.

I want to tell you guys something. I might have an eclectic music taste, and you might not like what I have to say, but AM I SHOVING THEM DOWN YOUR THROATS??? AM I?

You may have lost a lot of respect for my music tastes, but I have lost a lot of respect for both of you as individuals.

One thing though. When I said that I didn't like songs just cause they were radio-friendly...in hindsight, that came off as incredibly pretentious, and I apologize. It was more of an allusion to the fact that I didn't rank the "radio-friendly" songs on By The Way as high as the other ones, when UB did. There are a fucking shitload of "radio-friendly" songs that I dig. In fact, songs such as "Wonderwall", "Everlong", "Under the Bridge", and many other radio hits rank as my favorite songs.

I can't tell you how hurt I really do feel. You may think that this is a stupid reason for me to feel hurt, cause c'mon, it's just music, but it's like telling someone that what they like, and why they like it isn't good enough for them. I have to put up with it when people look at me weird for dancing, collecting comics, or listening to music that doesn't make it to the airwaves. Music, to me, is a lifestyle, and it holds a very very special place in my heart. For you both to tell me that what I like is wrong.....fuck you.

I like Guster, BECAUSE I LIKE GUSTER. Not because no one knows about them. I like Jimmy Eat World, BECAUSE I LIKE JIMMY EAT WORLD. And the fact that I like Clarity more than their self-titled album isn't because their self-titled album was played on the radio more. It's because I enjoyed it.

I never forced you both to look at my picks and take them as your own. I put them on here to give an opinion, to state something that I felt was worthwhile.....guys, I took over 45 minutes to post that. And then you tell me that I don't know anything about the RHCP, and that my music taste isn't good enough.....

I'm kinda seething with a bit of hatred right now. I will calm down, but don't ever tell me my opinion is wrong ever again.

quote:
And then you tell me that I don't know anything about the RHCP, and that my music taste isn't good enough.....

I'm kinda seething with a bit of hatred right now. I will calm down, but don't ever tell me my opinion is wrong ever again.

First off, I don't ever remember telling you were WRONG. I don't even fucking REMEMBER the last time I told ANYBODY they were wrong. It's not a habit of mine. "Losing respect for you" was not SUPPOSED to be take QUITE so literally. I'm sorry you took it to heart, you KNOW some of your music has always been different to what I listen to, but I respect that. I don't have to respect your opinion, but I always have. As for the other shit I said, that was MY opinion trying to comprehend YOURS. I don't expect us to be on the same page either. I'm sorry if my approach seemed derogitory by saying things like "moron", but this is nubblies, and that WAS TITAN posting on NUBBLIES. Fuck man, when I first came here I thought this place was shite because no one felt the need to give a clear look at my opinions, but that is THEIR RIGHT. I'm sorry for telling you what I saw or thought. Obviously, I'M not going to be as correct about YOU as YOU, I'm not you. Fuck me sideways man, I've lost all respect for myself.

Well, rather spend time that I don't have breaking down this album song by song, I'm going to let out my only serious pet peeve with By The Way. All of the text inside of the CD cover is utterly impossible to read, it's too small, and the red text does not contrast enough with the background to be legible. It's RHCP for crying out loud, I want the lyrics. I had to resort to the internet to find the lyrics to this amazing music, and let me tell you, it's easier to find porn than it is to find comprehensive, easily accesible music lyrics online.

Oh, and another unrelated note, I made it through that entire complaint without profanity, and since this is Nubblies... fuck.

I take that back, I have told many people that their perceptions of colours were wrong, but that's just because they were (unless their eyes function differently than my own).

Okay....here's what I want to say.

Titan, I know that this is Nubblies. I know that statements said on this board are more than less at times harsher or more derogatory than what they would be if you and I were talking face to face. I know that you usually respect my tastes, and that you respect my opinion.

However, I came on this topic to state how I looked at the album. How I interpreted the music. I said that I disagreed with you guys, but did not in any way say that you were idiots for your rankings or that your music tastes suck.

When UB replied to my post stating that he had lost respect for my music taste, I understood. Most people don't understand why I like certain bands. I don't call them ignorant. I just realize 'diff'rent strokes fo diff'rent folks'. I then asked you to respect the fact that our opinions and interpretations of the album were different and leave it at that.

I could have said that UB was crazy for putting Throw Away Your Television as the throwaway track of the album. I could have said that you were a freaking moron for Dosed as your #1 pick. But I didn't, because a man's opinion is a man's opinion, and nothing ain't ever gonna change that.

It's when you had the audacity to say that I was stupid for the way in which I ranked the album. All of us agree that it's a masterpiece, all of us agree that it's pretty much the RHCP's greatest album to date. So why does that make my music taste any less better than yours?

That is why I interpreted your post as you telling me that my opinion wasn't good enough. You didn't flat-out put into words that my opinion was WRONG, but what else am I supposed to think when you attack me for nothing more than stating my opinion? Is it my fault that I think that Tear wasn't the best track on this album? No.

Then you go on to say that when it comes to my music tastes, I act to the equivalent of a pretentious snob.

quote:
I've finally figured out what it is, while trying to comprehend how you could put "Tear" as #13/16. During your search to find new and different music that no one else out there is listening to, because, you know, that's what makes a band good, I think a bit-too-generous dosage of Guster and Jimmy Eat World have warped your brain, and twisted your perception of tempo.

Yup. You're too right. I have no comprehension of good and bad music. I just look for the unknown band and listen to them just because they are unknown. Yup. If a band is discreet, then I'm a follower....fuck that. One of my hobbies is discovering new bands, new solo artists, and new music in general. I love doing that. It's a great feeling to discover a band that doesn't have the money or fan base to be able to break through into the mainstream. Does this mean that I don't embrace music that is in the mainstream? Not at all. If I did, I wouldn't have said anything about this album. I wouldn't have half of my CD collection.

I'm sorry if you think that I took these affronts to my music taste too personally. I'm still your friend, and I still respect your music tastes. Hell, if it weren't for you, techno would still be a foreign language to me. But before you post derogatory comments about my opinion, know that I'm not just going to brush it off. Attacking my opinion is like attacking me. I don't take it lightly.

I really don't know what else to say. I'm tired of arguing because the same shit's going to be said over and over again. I feel like this last post was just a rehash of what I've been trying to say all along....whatever.

I think all that this post needs to say is that the RHCP deserve all the credit that they get, because they are the ones making the music that we hold so dearly to our hearts. Without them, this post would be non-existant and my music taste just wouldn't be the same. Props to them. We're all just followers.

Well feel free to attack my opinion all you want, I see no rulebook that says you can't. Your opinion of my opinion isn't going to change it in anyway.

Take what back? Are you telling me that I perceive colors wrong? Are you telling me that the text is as easy to read as the lyrics in the cover of Californication were? Are you? Because if you are...

Victim waves his fist menacingly at Titan (Yeah... that's all I got)

No victim, I'd agree with you, they are hard to read. I was taking back the part about me never pointing out something as being right or wrong. Though now that you mention it, you did say the words were red, and from my recollection and perception, they were pink... but hey, that's just me.

I'm not going to get into the middle of this, even though Chuck is way off. I would like to point out how fucking amazing this album obviously is though. Look at this thread. It hasn't even been up a day and there are already over 20 posts. Every song is so good and gets people so attached, that we're defending them as if they were our own creations. This does nothing other than show that every song is of such a high quality that it's incredibly hard to set up an exact order. I'd like to know how the Chili Peppers themselves would list them. I bet Chad's would look completely different from Flea's which would be different from Frischante's which would look nothing like Kiedis's.

If I were locked in a big box and forced to list them off, then I supose it would go like this, but could change at any moment:

1.Dosed
2.Can't Stop
3.Midnight
4.The Zephyr Song
5.Don't Forget Me
6.By the Way
7.Tear
8.Minor Thing
9.Venice Queen
10.Universally Speaking
11.This is the Place
12.I Could Die For You
13.Warm Tape
14.On Mercury
15.Cabron
16.Throw Away Your Television

That's only if I were forced, and if I were asked again tomorrow, it'd probably be different.

I'd be lying if I were to say that seraphim has not gotten into many a tiff for this exact reason.
