Mr. Blonde donates his body to science.
Well, I've still got no job and the prospects aren't looking great. I have some money still saved to tide me by with rent and food, and I'm actively looking for work. I'm actually going to an interview for Acting extra work next week, so we'll see how that goes, but that's not what this is about.
Given my current options, I've opted to sign up for medical testing. Many of these involve 2 - 2+ overnight stays at a facility while I take a medication then get my blood drawn/other tests done while staying on the premise. They usually net about 1500+ for completing the studies successfully. in a couple weeks I'll be doing a screening for a test at the end of November. This particular test is for an anti-stress/anxiety medication in Phase 1 trials, which usually study rate of absorption, rather than effectiveness. If I pass the screening, I'll be going in there for 6 nights/days, over Thanksgiving. I'm not actually sure if I'm okay with that, I'll have to check if family is coming out first. If they aren't, then I'll probably do it. Should be interesting to see what it's like "living" in this facility, but I don't see it as being much different than what I'm doing now, being unemployed; I'd actually have more human contact. That being said, a lot can happen in a month, so maybe I'll get employed and be unable to participate in this particular study. But there are other tests that split-up the overnight stays on the weekends that I could see myself participating in in the future. So anyways, new adventure I guess. But I'm not romanticizing it too much; at the heart of it this is just making sure I have money to live on in this economy. I'll keep you updated. |

I can bring in laptop with me to facility (I fucking hope so for nearly a week cooped up) so I'll try to update with the experiences there. Once again, I might not even get past screening, but I can't help but think there's going to be some One Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest shit in there.

Yeah, I had to do a bunch of psych volunteering for my psych courses as well. They were mostly tests or survey-type things I had to answer with very personal questions. They weren't pumping me full of drugs and stealing my blood, which is mostly what this will consist of.

That one on top is ridiculous. Basically stay cooped up for a month unable to leave for 5.5 grand...only for old people though. |

Unfortunately for pretty much every test there is a 60 day washout period, not to mention the time in-between studies that you have to wait for screening/the tests to start, so -- divide that by 3, assuming you get that same monetary amount for every test you complete, and also subtract the "life-joy" aspect of having to spend a significant portion of your life inside a facility.
Needless to say, this is not a viable career option. |

But on the upside you might develop some X-Men abilities.

The basis of our governments being the opinion of the people, the very first object should be to keep that right; and were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers, or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter. But I should mean that every man should receive those papers and be capable of reading them. |

Nice knowledge of the word bump (10) Wasn't even off the first page. Also Blonde shouts at people for not posting in the exact thread, this is the closest I can find to him donating his body to science, rather post here and be told i'm wrong by a mexican. |
