How can you call it a choke, they were predicted to be last, last in there division. I hardly call there season a "choke" at all. That fan cost them, straight up. Alou catches that they are 4 outs away from the world series. They will get the third out in the 8th inning, and they would of been celebrating in the 9th.

BDH-
To blame the Cubs loss on that man, is absolutely ridiculous. I blame the Cubs loss on Mark Prior choking late in yesterday's game. I blame the Cubs loss on getting too lax and not trying hard enough in Game 5, because they just assumed they could win 6 or 7 at Wrigley. I blame Alex Gonzalez for not making the play in the 8th inning of yesterday's game. I blame Kerry Wood for having one of his worst outtings of the season, in Game 7 of the NLCS. I blame Sammy Sosa, Moises Alou, Aramis Ramirez, Alex Gonzalez, Eric Karros, Kenny Lofton, Mark Grudzelanek, Damien Miller, Paul Bako, and Randall Simon for not swinging the bat when they needed to tonight, to help their struggling pitcher out of a jam. Shit...as much as he tried to do it himself, he still came up a bit short. I blame Dusty Baker for leaving Mark Prior in too long last night. I don't blame a guy just doing what any other normal human being would do: catch the fly ball that was coming at him. The Cubs weren't beat by one fan with a souvenier wish, they were beat by the Florida Marlins, and themselves. Leave the fuckin kid alone... -Ugly Bastard |

I agree with you BDH, but only the cubs know how to blow a 3-1 series lead with two of the best pitchers in the league pitching at home.
I guess the Cubs .vs Red Sox series will have to wait another year. |

Ask yourself this question. If he totally backs up and allows Alou to make that catch, are the cubs playing for the World Series Title? My answer: Yes

No
Here's why: That would've been the second out of the inning, not the last. You still would have had the Gonzalez error, and the boatload of runs by the Marlins. We can speculate all we want, but to ask yourself "If Alou makes that catch, are the Cubs playing for the World Series" is pretty fucking stupid. Why don't we just say "If Sosa hit those five home runs tonight, would the Cubs be playing for the World Series?...Yes". You can do it with a whole number of things. The bottom line is, Alou didn't make the catch, couple that with several other mistakes by the Cubs in their last two games, and we've got all off-season to think about it. -Ugly Bastard |

The Cubs had a 3-1 series lead and could have closed it out. they didn't. don't blame one fan when the cubs could have put it away before that. I know you Cubs fans are pissed, but get over it, you guys are cursed and they did in fact choke.

Sorry guys, but i dont think that fan blew it for the Cubs. I gotta go w/ Alpha on this one. The cubs did lose 2 games before that one and i would have only been the 2nd out. Florida would have still scored runs and won the game. It is too bad that they did lose the NLCS, but they were simply outplayed. My biggest disagreement w/ the whole deal is 'Pudge-MVP'. I think other players deserved it more (Conine or Cabrera).

all im saying is Pedro better pitch a gem tonite because the Yanks are not just gonna roll over and die. I think that the Sox just woke a sleeping giant by forcing a game 7. We will find out tonight everything the Yanks have, because God knows they are gonna lay it all on the table to win tonight. The Sox better play the best they have all season if they think they are gonna win it all. and while im kinda hard on the sox by saying what i just did, I HATE THE YANKEES....... GO SOX!!!!
>vote Pujouls for MVP??? |
