Just rebounded 500. How bizarre, in 30 minutes, it drops 800 and then back up 500.

It was down a lot more than 800 at it's low point. I saw down 980 at one point, not sure if that was the exact bottom or not.

This is so sick. I had a sell order of 500 shares set at 34 for HCP. It hit last week and then I was informed that I have to fill out paperwork and that it wouldn't sell until I signed several papers. This change occurred when I turned 24 and I was never notified that the policy was now different. Needless to say, it hasn't hit 34 since. The whole reason I'm bothered by this, is that I'm playing a game with HCP where I sell at 34 and buy at 27.5, rinse and repeat. It's a fun game as it hits the high and low an average of once per year.

The 34 used to be 35, but I felt a little nervous that the DOW wouldn't push through the 11k barrier and lowered to 34 and told my dad in conversation that I'm nervous about the market and the country realizing Obama has fucked us all. I also set up sell orders so minimize losses in case the market crashed suddenly (like it did today.) The only problem??? I didn't set up buy-back prices in case this actually did occur and now I'm left with only the losses on the temporary collapse from today. I'm so pissed about this. God damnit.

Well not to play hindsight, but you did post in here, seemingly with the knowledge of what was happening, indeed even thinking about what your positions were, why didn't you just manually make a new order and cut a lot of the loss?

Psychedelics are illegal not because a loving government is concerned that you may jump out of a third story window. Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behavior and information processing.

With the 20-minute delay of stock price reporting that is found online, as soon as UB posted it, I was toast and the sell orders had been filed. I literally came out of a final exam, came on to nubblies and saw that post UB made. Normally, this sell point would have been great, since a drop like what occurred only happens in a circumstance which supports why I had the sell order in place. But a fuckstick's type costing me all that? That's really far more than I want to accept right now. Human's make mistakes, I get that, but this error cost billions of dollars (minimum) and I'm wondering who bought all the stock to bring it back up that fast. It a massive sell off, there is never massive purchasing, so some people/companies were HYPER aggressive on buying back as if they knew exactly what had happened. Kind of suspicious to me all this could happen in just 30 minutes.
