UB and I conducted a blind taste test of six light beers tonight. It was a mind-opening experience.

I suggest you all pair up and do the same.

The beers in our test were:
Bud Light
Miller Light
Coors Light
Bud Select
Natural Light
Sam Adams Light

I was able to discern 6 out of 6, but that's because my palate is superhuman.

UB wasn't as skilled.

Let us know the results of your tests.

Certainly not! I went long enough without drinking at all that the urges to drink at inappropriate times gradually waned and finally disappeared altogether. I've enjoyed a couple of beers at two recent occasions, Pacquiao fight and UFC. Controlled, resposible drinking. That was my goal and I'm sticking to it. I'd have to save a taste test like this for some sort of occasion in order to not feel guilty about it.

Yeah I think UB was right. I'm not nearly as far gone as I was afraid of. As I was a bit drunk when I posted the original thread, I was probably a bit more dramatic than normal. I've noticed that one thing that has helped is keeping nonalcoholic beers around for when I'm craving something. Usually when I just want a beer or two, I end up drinking 7-8, but this way my craving is sated and I only actually drink the one or two. Plus my mustache gives me strength. The real test is going to come on December first when I can no longer use it as a crutch.
