Since f3lix doesn't want to dirty up his thread about the "talks" revolving around the debt ceiling increase with an answer to my question, I've created this separate thread for the possibility of him answering it.

f3lix, what do you think would happen if the United States government does not raise the debt ceiling by August 2nd? What global impact do you think is likely and why?
