Mint.com - Managing your money.
I found this site a few weeks ago...and absolutely love it. It's really going to help me get ahold of my finances.
I originally was trying to setup Quicken...but it just doesn't work the way I want. This site will automatically categorize all of your expenses. You can set budgets with it..and it will tell you how much you are spending in each area... It's really helped me get my spending under control. Before I'd just spend money...not really worrying about how much I *really* was dumping in different areas. Another cool feature of it, is that it will tell you how much you are spending compared to the US average. You can also look up averages for the city you live in (which is crazy awesome imho). Check it out if you currently don't have a way to manage your finances...it's pretty awesome. I can't believe there is not more attention to this and Ubiquity...honestly two of the greatest things I have found this past year..
Twitter is kind of stupid....but this site is insanely...INSANELY useful. |
Stop posting like this...Please...It gets really annoying...That is all...

Also stop being so surprised that your threads suck. It's not like we haven't told you you're a shitty poster a ton of times already. It's pretty much common knowledge.

I don't have much practice on making high quality posts. I suppose after I got to the 5k post mark maybe I could make some better threads. And if it's common knowledge that I'm a shitty poster, why do you feel the need to repeat it over and over? You are an idiot, that places waaaay to much value on this site. I didn't make the post to try and gain e-rep with Ironic Mustache. I made it because they are incredibly useful tools that I have found that I felt like sharing. It is becoming apparent to me that the type of people that now reside here day in day out don't give a shit about this type of thing, so I will stop wasting my time sharing them. |
Everybody has shitty threads that they think are cool and aren't. everybody has posted something that has gotten 1,2, or zero replies. Most of us just realize that maybe it wasn't as great as we thought and move on.

Is there a way to use this site without letting it have access to all my fucking financials?

It's secure site tho..and pretty widely known/used. The only security risk is having another site that you put your username/password into...so if you already do online banking..its not much more of a risk. ...also..say Mint.com got hacked somehow..there would be that risk..though I'm quite certain that a site of this caliber...with access to like 5k banks would be pretty secure. I originally found the site from lifehacker.com ...at first people were weary about it, ...and I heard about it a long time ago...but recently there were some posts about financial software..and a lot of people were recommending this...so I thought I would give it a go.. It's honestly going to help me a TON...the fact that it categorizes everything automatically (and you can create new categories)...is what I find makes it so useful. I've tried other financial software like Quicken...and it's just a hassle to keep everything up to date..and I just end up falling behind. With this...I can simply log in..and get an overview of all my finances automatically RIGHT NOW..without having to spend the time to make sure everything is up to date. ... So, no you can't. |

I assume he means if you can manually put it in..or export it from your bank..then import it.. answer is, no, you can't do that. Works with Paypal too fyi. |

I'm very interested. But does it work with UK banks?
|
I would use this religiously if it worked w/ my UK accounts. I'm a mess with finances and I bleed money.
|
Spearmint is the only mint worth mentioning.

Doesn't have my shitty bank :(
