The basis of our governments being the opinion of the people, the very first object should be to keep that right; and were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers, or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter. But I should mean that every man should receive those papers and be capable of reading them. |

I'll be working the highly glamorous job of Medical Records.
Yes, it's as boring as it sounds. But it is a good step up from my current job of admitting, and it's in the town I live in, instead of the next one over, which is nice. Plus I'll have regularly hours instead of swing shift, and since it's a clinic and not a hospital we're closed on major holidays like Christmas. On top of that it pays more. Well, congrats on the new job!
Perhaps maybe talking to the hospital administrator and telling him the cause of Movember and get him behind the idea? Would be pretty cool if you got all the men and women in the hospital supporting it. |

Better yet, I'm sure your hospital has a PR department or maybe HR that you could talk to first? They would be able to feel out whether or not it's a realistic plan for the hospital or not, also they would have media connections to give the hospital free press for doing something good.
I'm sure they do something breast-cancer related at least once a year, right? |

I will be taking part in Movember for the first time and am quite excited. Just ordered the promo pack and will be putting the posters up in my office and 5 donation boxes to set up around town fo FREE! Trying to get as many people to participate as possible and hopefully attend the atlanta gala.

You're being niggardly. I mean that in the sense that you are being miserly with your empathy for prostate cancer patients, as well as the other meaning--youre acting like a nigger.

Sadly, I think this is one year I will not be able to join the festivities. I do not not think prospective hiring managers would be interested in hiring somebody in the middle of growing a mustache.
You all know this isn't a copout, and if I don't get any interviews (a real possibility) I'll certainly do my best. |

I don't know. Interesting tidbits make the interview. Enough people have heard of Movember that there is a good chance the interviewer will say "Oh, you're doing Movember?" and you can have a conversation about that, instead of the standard questions they have preared, which they are utterly bored by. It is why you should always have something quirky at the bottom of the resume. (Mine is that I was my University's mascot.)

Thought about that. I probably wouldn't want to work for somewhere that didn't have a sense of humor/compassion for cancer anyways. But, beggars can't be choosers, and I am temporarily a beggar.

Psychedelics are illegal not because a loving government is concerned that you may jump out of a third story window. Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behavior and information processing.
