Ok, I'm sure many of you have heard about the virus that is going around and will restart your computer after you connect to a network or dial into the internet. Well it's really a pain in the ass to fix and if you're reading it, then you're probably ok.
It effects Windows NT systems which is basicall Windows XP or 2000 and better, so if you have windows 98, you're fine. However, I would recommend installing all of the updates from the microsoft windows update. Basically, just go to start, all programs, then at the top click on the windows update. Just follow the steps and update everything that you can, it will not hurt your computer. The one that you absolutely need is the "Security Update for Windows XP (823980)". If that is available and you don't feel like downloading any of the other cause you have a slow connection, MAKE SURE YOU DOWNLOAD THAT. You can also get the file from here. If you download that one, just make sure you run it and you should be good to go. For any of you that didn't used to use windows update, I strongly recommend it as it can prevent many problems. One last thing, if you do need help getting it off your computer, PM me and I will try and give you instructions or I could possibly come over or something to help you out. Update, if you have an illegal copy of Windows XP without a corporate key code, then windows update will not work. I just tried it. Hopefully it doesn't mess up my operating system or anything.
