BDH, do you rent your canoes? Say we'd get 8 people to go... that'd be 4 canoes. The place I go it only costs 20 bucks per canoe for the entire day. And they hall the canoes back for you. But it doesn't sound like that's an option here. The fact that we'd need to get a trailer, coupled with the fact we'd have to have a commitment (that we can trust) specifically from BDH that he would be going because we'd need his experience with this trip is starting to make this look like it would be difficult. I'm kind of worried about flaking out after what happened this years draft... What kind of commitment can we expect from you?

The thing is if the weather is bad it's not worth going. We went on a river trip in Late October and it was high 60's and got down into the 30's at night. It was doable but anything lower and/or rain would cancel things. Weather wise early May we shouldn't have to worry about temperature but the rain could mess things up.

My buddy has 6 canoes and I have a Kayak (1 person). The thing is he doesn't really like other using them unless he is around. If we had SUV's you can tie 2 canoes on top but a trailer is definitely easier (my buddy has a canoe trailer as well).

Commitment wise will depend on the date. I have graduation the first week-end in May so the second week-end would definitely workout better for me.

We've already set the date in stone. I believe it's on page 1. We even came up with a catchy name for it.

Why don't we put a camping trip down as a for sure thing. If that date comes and canoeing looks good, we'll loop that in via ID's place.

Legally, if more than 7 people show up, it becomes a rally instead of simply camping. I propose we change the name to our "first weekend of May Nubblies Rally for a cure"... this way we are optimistic that we'll have a good turnout and we can try to get people to sponsor us.

Typically leave our area at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday and get on the river by 12:30. Setup camp sometime between 5:00-7:00. You're so drunk by the time you eat everyone is usually in bed by 10:30. Wake up at 8 have breakfast and get back on the river by 11ish. Depending on how long you went down the next day you can be off the river by 2-4:30.

Does anyone else find it odd that BDH is the one talking about camping??? I never thought of him as a roughian!!! At least we would have a 130 song catalog of Dave to listen to on our journey.

While I really do appreciate you trying to motivate and encourage participation, I don't think you're being fair. Even if the camping trip isn't until May, it's still a lot to ask of Im and myself. You know we would come if it was more manageable. But it definitely gets a little annoying when you guys act like it's no big thing and we're just being lazy. You live like 6 states away, asshole! Not to mention most of you guys are out of school and have nice paying jobs, so you could actually afford to travel, whereas I, can't.
