Wah wah wah... it's not fair that you're allowed to get even richer if you're already rich. Wah wah wah... the government should launch a huge wealth distribution policy to give me some of that money... Wahhhhhhh

LOL at McCain choosing Palin (which i'm sure you guys will argue is only a minor facet of her qualities, and rant about all the experience she had in Alaska when she was coming up second in the 1984 Miss Alaska competition) to try and garner all the women voters that would have otherwise possible voted for Hilary...something makes me think this might be the coup de grāce..

She supported Pat Buchanan for president, the same guy who is against environmentalism, feminism, abortion, gay rights, and freedom of religion. He's FOR the display of the Confederate Flag, and, along with Sarah Palin, wants creationism taught in science classes. Oh - he also believes AIDS is God's punishment for homosexuality, as well as natural disasters. Knowing all of this, she supported him for president, because she's a Christian fundamentalist who wants to impact America in a social way. This woman isn't just conservative, she's an extreme Christian fundamentalist. You guys may like her, and yeah, she's totally hot, but people who believe the same stuff that her and Buchanan do are dangerous - they would set us back 100 years on social issues.
That said, it was a smart, albeit risky move by McCain. I'll give the old guy props - it was gutsy, but also political pandering of the worst kind. With one choice he made his own run more historic and dynamic, and appeased the social conservative core of his party. But it's also disappointing to see him stoop to this kind of stuff. It's a flashy stunt. And I know that this is politics and he's only playing the game, but, despite my support for Obama, who I know plays the game too, McCain always had that honorable, above the fray mystique to him. Not so much anymore. If he does win I hope he doesn't continue to bow to the Christian conservatives, like he did with his VP pick. November is going to be crazy. |

I heard Palin sucked dick last night?
That said, I guess the republicans on here think what she said was amazing? ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told ministry students at her former church that the United States sent troops to fight in the Iraq war on a "task that is from God." In an address last June, the Republican vice presidential candidate also urged ministry students to pray for a plan to build a $30 billion natural gas pipeline in the state, calling it "God's will." Palin asked the students to pray for the troops in Iraq, and noted that her eldest son, Track, was expected to be deployed there. "Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God," she said. |

Oh wow... a guy in a socialist country heard that the American GOP's VP Pick sucked in her speech? No way!!
She was absolutely awesome in my opinion. Perfectly written speech with just enough zings on Obama, background on her life story and delivered with the perfect amount of emotion and connection to the audience. People will love her here. |

I absolutely hated Mitt Romney's speech last night during the convention. I think he's posturing for the 2012 election if things don't work out this year.
Conventions amaze me, at the simple fact that so many people get SOOOO hyped up and dancing around and all other stupid shit, its damn near cult-like. |

Seriously. Make light all you want, but these fundamentalists are dangerous, and McCain is a sell out for choosing her. I wonder how much more he'll bend over for his social conservative base.

I went through the Christian bashing phase. I'm over it. It's like... we get it... the things they believe in seem kind of silly. It wasn't getting me anywhere being a huge dick about it.

Of course not. I was a dick to you and Repug because I think you guys can be held to a higher standard than your average churchgoer.

There is a reason that Fox News is playing back Tom Ridge's speech instead of McCain's. Food For Thought. Anyone who watched his speech, realizes what I am talking about. A president also has to be personalable. Just saying. I'm waiting til the debates til I decide, but I have been leading and will lean the way of Obama until proven otherwise.
FYI: Fox News says they are unbiased and we all know that is the furthest thing from the truth. |
