Going through my stuff yesterday, I came upon a bunch of data CDs with old music files. I threw them all out without a second thought because I basically feel like I still have the files thanks to Spotify.

Even before Spotify officially worked in the US I was able to use it in the US because I had a UK subscription. Don't update your billing address.

I just got Spotify...so far I see it's usefulness as an alternative to itunes, which is a shitty fucking program. Ain't no way I'm throwing away all my music...if it's got all the shit I listen to I'll consider it. Pretty cool though. I'm sure Apple isn't happy about this.

Why the fuck won't Spotify play certain songs, even ones I downloaded from iTunes

I'm trying to be really proactive by getting music that isn't on spotify on there. If some of your bands aren't on there, follow these instructions:

Dirty Harry, learn2troubleshoot. All the things I'm seeing have to do with certain country or copyright issues.

Yeah, they do pertain to copyright issues. The main problem seems to arise from some, but not all, of the music that I purchased from iTunes. Ironically, all my pirated music plays just fine.

By far the funniest thing about people trying to get netizens to buy music, is that pirating is thus far the only thing that actually works as music was intended to be.

I remember when I started installing CD's on different computers and would always have to "verify" them -- usually could only install on 5 computers. Fuckkkkk that.

The same shit affects games/software. I've seen numerous people trying to install software, getting a message that their key is invalid or some other bullshit reason it won't install (even though they just purchased the software), and then simply download/install a cracked version to bypass the error.

the droid app stops playing music and fucks up my phone when the screen goes dark. the screen stays dark and I have to take out the battery and replace it to get my screen to work again. Probably going to cancel my subscription.
