Just finished the last episode of Season 3 of Sons of Anarchy (meaning I'm caught up).

I am not exaggerating when I say that watching that episode made me feel a cocktail of emotions unlike any television show ever has. I'm not even going to spoiler text about why I'm feeling this way. I want to take no chances that anyone accidentally ruins the experience they could have by watching this series.

The show as a whole is fantastic. But this episode? There's a lot going on in this episode. Enough that I would recommend watching the 77 prior to it even if they were pure shit simply to enjoy episode number 78 in all of it's glory.

Sons of Anarchy is magnificent.

I just finished the third season of Son of Anarchy. What an absolutely amazing season finale. I agree with everything Gaz said. This is a show that keeps on fucking delivering.

I am painfully embarrassed to admit this, but I started watching True Blood tonight. It's not that I really wanted to, but I've run out of new tv shows to watch and I paid $10 for monthly access to megavideo. The show is fucking retarded, and I can't get passed how fucking retarded it really is. But...it is also mildly entertaining. I still feel like a complete faggot for watching it.

All I know, is I watched it and loved it. That night, I drempt about being in the same biker gang, and getting beat in. After that, we went and fought another biker gang, and I got shot at. I woke up in a pouring down sweat. Biker gangs aren't for me.

Starting watching "the Wire" ... first couple of episodes are pretty "meh" but towards the end of episode 4 and into the middle of 5 it gives you the "hook" and I may have swallowed it.

Just finished the last episode of The Sopranos. It was a really good season, but a disappointing finale. I would liked to have seen a Godfather-esque ending, where the Soprano family takes out all of its enemies at the end. But I suppose the writers thought that ending had already been done.

Spoilers forthcoming, if you haven't seen the ending yet.

It wasn't a horrible ending by any means, and it was a very unique way to end the show. Clearly, Tony gets whacked. Every time the door to the restaurant opens, you see a shot of Tony from the front, then you see a shot of the doorway from Tony's POV. The very last time the door opens up, you see Tony's face look up at the door, then it goes to black. This is because the next shot is from Tony's POV, which is black because he is dead. Plus, the way the whole scene was set up was clearly indicative of a hit about to take place. I feel like the guy sitting at the bar was the hitman. He was in a disadvantageous position at the bar because Tony was facing him directly. That is why he got up and went to the bathroom-to flank Tony. This is what I assume happens as Meadow is walking in the door. Tony was kind of a son of a bitch, so I guess he got what he deserved.

I thought the part with Meadow having trouble parking her car was kind of interesting as well. If she had parked her car perfectly the first time, she would have been sitting next to Tony. This means either the hit would not have taken place, or she would have probably been collateral damage.

I think the show ended too early. They could have gotten three more seasons out of it. It's unfortunate, what a great fucking show that was. Probably one of the best of all time.

I feel like Chase tried too hard to make the show end this way, and I'm just not convinced that's how it would have "really" gone down. There were many times throughout the show were Tony has been comfortable, not paranoid. Usually when the shit was going down though, he was cautious and smart. Tony wasn't the brightest guy in the world, but when it came to mafia shit, he was good at what he did. I just don't see how a guy who has survived multiple assassination attempts and eluded federal law enforcement agencies could be so careless. I don't think Tony would have believed that "truce" set up with New York in the garage. I don't think he would have let his guard down that easily. It doesn't make sense and that's not the Tony we all came to know through 6 glorious seasons.

The other discrepancy is where Carmella chose to sit-across from Tony. This was a family dinner out. When I go out to eat with my family, my parents sit next to each other and I sit next to my brother in a booth. I am fairly certain this is common practice among most families of four.

I did a search for "Spartacus" and nothing in this thread came up, so I apologize if this has already been mentioned. I tried watching the first episode of season one a couple of times and just couldn't get into to it, so eventually I said fuck it and skipped ahead to the second. Apparently the first episode is the only shitty episode of the entire season. It's overly bloody, overly booby (if such a thing exists), and all around pretty badass. Aside from the random dongers and occasional dudes kissing each other (not any worse than Oz), I don't have too much bad to say about it. An additional plus is that it adds awesome new exclamations to my vocabulary. My latest favorite is, "Jupiter's cock!"

If you liked 300, you'll like this. If you didn't like 300, there's something obviously wrong with you.

Very happy you made this. DDT and I watched about half of the first episode before turning it off. The reason we even started is because I randomly caught 10 minutes of a random episode prior to that and loved it. After seeing how shitty the first one was, though, I was completely put off and haven't made another effort.

Sounds like it may be worth it.

For most shows, yes I see your point. But, for a show as popular and highly publicized as The Sopranos was, it seems silly to me. I hadn't seen the last 6 or so episodes of the last season up until yesterday, yet even I knew of the controversy surrounding the end of the series. How could you not? It was everywhere in the media when it first came out.

I realize that you haven't seen any of the show. But I promise you that anything I spoiled for you will not really spoil anything.
