Nightly Routine: My dad goes to bed between 10:30 and 11:00. After that, I change the TV in the living room from channel 36 (what he watches) to channel 54 (Howard Stern). Somewhere between 10:45 and 11:15 I turn off everything (tv, lights) and go take a shower. After this, I walk straight across the hallway into my bedroom...where I go to sleep. This is all very important because of what follows.
About a week or a week and a half ago, after I took my shower and got into my bed, I heard a loud TV. I thought that maybe it was my parents' tv that I was hearing...but it was really really loud. I got up to investigate and it turned out that the TV in my living room was still on. I just figured that I had forgotten about it, so I turned it off, went back to bed, and thought nothing of it. Two nights later, I was lying in my bed yet again when I heard the living room TV again. (It's clear when it's the living room TV as opposed to my parents' tv...because I can hear the living room TV over my own TV if I really listen for it). I muted my TV on channel 54 and listened for the living room TV to see if that's the channel it was on...but it wasn't. So I changed my TV to 36 and listened again and, low and behold, the sound from the living room tv matched up to the video on my tv. At this point in time I figured my dad had gotten out of bed and was in the living room watching TV for some reason...as clearly a TV can't turn on by itself and change channels from 54 to 36 on its own... The next day, I asked my dad why he got up in the night, but he said that he didn't. Along with this, I asked my mom if the TV was on when she got up (she's the first one up), and it wasn't... Basically, this means that somehow the TV was turned back on, changed to channel 36, and, sometime between 11:30pm and 3:30am, turned back off. I proceeded to tell my parents that we clearly had a ghost in the house...but they didn't believe me at all. They suggested that it was simply their TV that I was hearing...even though I knew that it wasn't. A few nights later, after I got into my bed again, I heard the living room TV. To be sure that it was not their TV, I opened my door and looked down the hall only to see the light from the tv on the floor in the living room...it was clearly the living room TV. Also, I knew 100% for sure that I had turned the TV off...because, at this point in the game, I am very sure about it every night before I go to bed, just to make sure that I am not blaming a ghost for forgetting to turn off a TV. This time I did not go to the living room to investigate...as I didn't really want to talk to a ghost about the time of night and his inconsiderate watching of the television. The next day, I asked my mom if the TV was on when she got up in the morning and, like the other times, it was not. I've checked the TV for some freak option that turns it on at a certain time every night (and then back off), but none exists. There really is no explanation for what the fuck is going on here...other than my house is haunted. Something of this sort happened for a period of time about a year ago. My computer would turn on by itself and boot up and shit...but, with that, I just figued it was a computer so it was being a jackass for no reason whatsoever...but now with the TV doing what it's doing, I'm reconsidering. Basically, I have a ghost that likes to push buttons, that's the only way to explain all of this. Of course, he's probably watching me type this over my shoulder...so he'll be more careful about watching tv and playing on the computer. If you are watching this, leave me the fuck alone. Go to someone else's house you bastard. I've had enough of you. That's all I've got for now... |

Your clear answer:
Riley is sitting down for a little late nite television. Leave the dog alone. He is jacking off to a little AMC, why would you want to stop him? This poignant solution is brought to you by........ -Ugly Bastard |

Well then Orgazmo, it is apparant that you have ghosts.
I suggest you tie Riley to the dining room table and leave him as a sacrifice to the ghosts. I know this is tough, but it's the only way. -Ugly Bastard |

While I believe your TV story fully, nothing will ever top my ghost experience (probably because i experienced it and not someone else).
One time my best friend and I were at his old house. We were about 14 years old so old enough that the dark didn't scare you but young enough that ghosts and stuff like that bothered you. As we are sitting watching TV in his living room at about 1:00 A.M. his Piano begins to play. This is not an automatic play Piano and nobody was sitting there playing the Piano. While nobody will ever believe this story and we've told it many times, it's all irrelevant. Whatever it was that played the piano that night was not something of the ordinary it was supernatural for sure and scary as fuck at that. |

Yeah, I had a tiger time w/Mr. Kesler about ghosts and shit like that, and he told us that if we ever experienced something that we thought could have to do with anything paranormal to say "If you're a ghost, do that again" just to see what kind of results we would get. Well one night I was in my room with the tv off and it sounded like something tapped on the side of my tv...it was a noise that could have just been the tv doing something I guess...but it wasn't a noise that I had ever heard before, and certainly sounded more human-made than just a noise that happens. I sat there for a second then said "If you're a ghost...do that again." RIGHT after I said it, the exact same noise happened. I sat there and didn't say anything for like 5 minutes...waiting for it to happen again so I could just brush it off and say that it happened even while I didn't taunt the ghost...but it didn't happen again (nor has it since). This story is a bit gay, I agree, but at least a little freaky, nonetheless.

I'm not sure if you want this to turn into a "ghost story" thread, but i will tell mine anyways.
Actually it is what my grandpa told me. He is dead now. He used to live in this old house. That was the same house my dad lived in since he was born. I was told that there were two (or three) women that died IN that house a long time before my grandpappy bought it. It is a two story house with a lot of little bedrooms. Just to give you an idea of how scary it is. I would not go anywhere in that house unless there was someone else with me because i was too scared to go anywhere in the house untill just a few years ago (like 5). There was a little room off of the dining room that had a bed in it. Also in that room was a starcase closet (a closet located under a starcase). The closet had a red satin curtain for a door. The closet was also very dark (and creepy). A year or so after my grandma died, my grandpa started to sleep in that room. Their old room was located on the second floor of the house. Now to get to the main story. One night when my grandpa was asleep in the room off of the dining room. He sort of woke up, but not completely awake. When he cracked his eyes open he saw a female figure at the foot of the bed, not thinking anything of it, he closed his eyes. After closing his eyes he realized what he had just saw. He then open his eyes and saw the red satin curtain to the closet rippling. He then thought about what he had saw. When he woke up the next morning he remembered seeing the female figure come out of the closet and stand at the foot of the bed. I don't know how he did it, but every night after that he slept in that same bed. The exact same thing happend once more after that. Then never again. A year or so later he died on that same bed. If i were him, i would have been scared shitless and either moved or went and slept in another room. That man was a true soldier. That would make a total of at lease 3 people that have died in that house. I feel sorry for the person who buys it next. As for me, after hearing that story (about 2 years ago), I have NEVER stepped foot in the red satin curtain closet. |

I've had cases where people call me and wake me up and I don't even remember talking to them until I check my caller ID. If you're half asleep, not everything registers the same as if you were wide awake. [This message has been edited by Trout Sniffer (edited December 02, 2002).] |

Last night, my dad goes to bed @ 10:30 and I take control of the TV, turning it to 54. I watch until 11:15 or so, go shower, then go to bed. 15 - 30 minutes later, I hear my dad out of bed. He knocks on my door and says, "Were you done with the TV...". I, of course, say yes, and he continues to tell me that it's turned on. We both venture to the living room where the tv is turned on to channel 36 (recall: it was on 54 yet again when I turned it off). My father still claims that there is a logical explanation...but I know much better than this. The house is haunted, there's no other way to account for the happening as of late...
I'm trying to bargain with my parents to set up a video camera...to catch the perpetrator on film. We'll get this nazi, oh yes, we'll get 'em. [This message has been edited by Orgazmo (edited December 05, 2002).] |

Orgazmo-
I will be within a block or two of Winona Lake City Limits in nine days. Perhaps you could wait on me to catch this ghost?! I'm not kidding when I say this, your story interests me more than you can possibly imagine. I've got a little thing for ghosts, I've always wanted to see one. -Ugly Bastard |

I'll be damned if the ghost didn't strike again. He's getting bold folks, very bold. Read on.
The night was Thursday and the time was 11:27 pm (according to my VCR clock, 11:30 according to the little clock on my computer). My dad had gone to bed and I was doing something on the computer whilst listening to Howard Stern (channel 54). All of a sudden, I heard a gunshot or a horse or something of that nature so I turned to the television, only to realize that it was on channel 36, American Movie Classics. I was more than a little distraught over the incident...but I still managed to note the time (according to 2 different sources) and check through the television's settings. Like I said in a previous post, the TV does have the ability to turn on @ a certain time to any channel. With that in mind, I scrolled through the options and found that the aforementioned was completely empty... At this point in time I simply turned the TV back to Stern and finished my computing...but that doesn't take away from the fact that it was weird as shit. I've talked to a few fellow Nubblites who have expressed an interest in contacting the spirit via Ouija Board. Not sure if this will actually happen, but, if it does, rest assured that you folks will hear all about it. |

The television is an RCA, crafted in 2000. It was originally owned by my late grandfather and inherited a little over a year ago after he passed away. It's true that he enjoyed passing his time by watching old westerns...the same westerns that often show themselves when the television miraculously turns itself back to channel 36. Interesting...isn't it...

Orgazmo, have you spoken to your sister regarding the television... she has some very interesting theories. I think that the only explanation lies in the history of the t.v., there is a ouija board in your house... if interested, we can get it out tomorrow night.

Welcome to Christmas Eve Night (technically Christmas Day). Brief history (to support the theory that the weird stuff going on is actually my friendly Grandfather trying to make contact). Christmas Eve lunch was normally spent with my late Grandfather. We would each KFC and then open gifts from 11:30ish to 3:00ish. It was the main time that we spent Christmas with him. Even though he's gone, we continue the eating KFC tradition. The following is what I just typed out in an ICQ conversation to someone...and I'm really freaked out right now, so it may or may not make much sense to you...
we have landscape lights in our front yard they never flash... they are flashing now...at a semi-constant interval they stay on for 6 seconds, then flash off for a second, then stay on for 6...they do that a random amount of time and then start going crazy weirdest part: my brother discovered it and told my mom to look, as soon as she went to look it stopped she turned away and it started again Next weirdest part: we were standing there watching it and my brother said "maybe the 6 seconds is like 666..." right after that it starting going random for quite awhile Next weirdest part: tbhe lights stayed on for a count of 40 seconds, my brother said "please flash" and nothing happened, 2 seconds later he said "soon" and it flashed (and continued on the interval of 6) |
