dogs kill boy
Anymore it seems like you read a story like this one each week. I'm sick of this crap.

Why the hell do people think they need to have dogs like this? Because they make good pets? No. Because they need them for protection? They were safer without the dog.

I'm sorry, but dogs like Dobermans, Pit Bulls, and Rottweilers should be restricted to police or military use only. Civilians should not be allowed to own dogs like that. Hell, they barely qualify as dogs, they are more like killing machines.

Anyone else feel the same?

I bet the odds of an injury caused from owning a Doberman, Pit Bull, or Rottweiler are lower than an injury from owning a sportscar.

Does that mean I'm going to give up my sportscars? Hell no.

Take everything in perspective.

You'd bet correctly: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Sparta/5904/dying.htm

However, that's a really clever comparison, DJ FC. Too bad you can't get injured from "owning" a sports car. I'll assume you meant driving a sports car.

However, you don't need to own a killer dog. You do however, need a vehicle to function, and, sports car or not, driving has a lot higher chance of injury/death than a lot of stuff.

I never said that there weren't things more likely to kill you then a dog. However, you then went and used a "slippery slope" technique to try to show me perspective.

Take everything into perspective my ass.

You're a fucking idiot Elegy, no one is going to tell me that I can't own a fucking Rotweiler if I want to.

Second of all you stupid fuck, the guy was probably a loser.

Rotweilers, Pit Bulls can be just as nice as any other dog. Those dogs were probably starving, if the guy takes care of them even remotely like he takes care of his kid, then they're definitely not doing too well.

No, I ment owning. When insurance people run statistics on life expectancy, a lot of factors are considered. Smoking is one. Eating habits, history of disease, amount of excersize, these all count as well. But lets consider two scenarios.

1)A perfectly normal and average person drives an average car, but owns one of your 'killer dogs.'

2)A perfectly normal and average person owns an average dog, but owns a sportscar.

Neither the 'killer dog' nor the 'sportscar' is necessary, but the man with the sportscar will have a higher mortality rate.

This is not a slipperly slope argument at all, I'm not that much of a dumbass.

Just take things in perspective.

A dog will respond however you train them, any dog can be a safe pet.

dog vs. car...most inane argument ever.

I don't mean to brag, I don't mean to boast, but I'm intercontinental when I eat french toast.

No.

Killer dogs vs. Sportscars
Both not necessary, both semi-dangerous, both desired by many people, both should remain legal. It is a very good comparison (and just happened to be the first one that popped in my head).

I like dogs.

Psychedelics are illegal not because a loving government is concerned that you may jump out of a third story window. Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behavior and information processing.

You can have a killer dog if you want. Just accept the consequences that if anything goes wrong (i.e. you step on it's tail, your kid pets it a little harder than it likes), it'll have your jugular.

Secondly, Rottweilers and Pitbulls can not be just as nice as any other dog. Each breed of dog was designed to do a specific thing. Working dogs were designed to help people hunt or herd stuff. Toy breeds were designed as family pets. Pit bulls and Rottweilers were used for war. They were meant to kill.

A Rottweiler never makes a good pet, and a poodle never makes a good war dog.

elegy, fuck you. once again, you're spouting off about something you know nothing about.

how many people do you know that have been mauled by a dog? you know why it is that you hear about them in the news every few months? it's because it's rare that that happens, so rare that when it does happen, it makes national headlines.

have you ever had any contact with a pit bull? how about you go to this site and see if you even know what a pit bull looks like. I'd wager to say that you don't. American bulldogs, staffordshire terriers, bull terriers and a shitload of other short-haired breeds are misrepresented all the time and given the generic tag of 'pit bull'. This means that the "pit bulls" that mauled that boy might not have been pit bulls at all.

these "killing machines" or "war dogs", as you put it, have been a part of more american families than you think. for christ's sake, the fucking dog on Little Rascals was a pit bull.

Elegy, for the sake of everyone who has to sift through your bullshit, please think before you post.
