With the Oscars fast approaching, I figured it would be applicable to make a Top 5 Thread for 2002 Movies.
So just list out your Top 5 favorite movies that were at least in the theaters sometime in 2002 (I realize it's hard to know exactly what year some movies were considered to be released...so anything that is up for an Oscar this year is fair game as well). Mine: 1. Adaptation 2. Gangs of New York 3. Road to Perdition 4. About Schmidt 5. 8 Mile -Ugly Bastard |

I haven't seen nearly enuff movies this year, I've been locked in my cage. However, I know that Gangs of New York should be without a doubt in the top 5. And if Daniel Day-Lewis does not get some kind of recognition for his role in GoNY, know that, as Jesus himself was quoted as saying, flaming penises will surely rain down upon those that have made this so, and penetrate their filthy assholes.

Top three are definate. The others are negotialble, and I'm sure About Schmidt would have been on there, had I seen it.
1. Adaptation (I can't believe it wasn't nominated for best picture.) 2. Gangs of New York (should win from nominated) 3. Road to Perdition (best crime drama since The Godfather pt. III) 4. Red Dragon (amazing addition to the Hannibal Lecter series) 5. Signs or Minority Report |

I enjoyed red dragon, but why remake a movie released so recently. if things continue in this fashion, perhaps one day you'll be able to go to the cineplex and see a picture then immediately following... go next door and see it's remake. that will be a beautiful day. cheers.

It wasn't a remake persay. The origional version (called 'Manhunter') was released seperate from the official series and only slightly resembles the book 'Red Dragon', while the recent version mirrors the book more closely and is an "official version", which only means that it has Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal and was released by the same company.

You tell 'em tongue creeper of the vagina death.
I forgot about both "Signs" and "Minority Report" Signs was really really good, but I think that (with what I've heard of the other proposed movies) it wouldn't make my top 5 had I seen all the others. Minority Report would though, that was brilliance. I'm trying to download "Adaptation" right now... I want to see this mother fucker. And 8 Mile godammit. I wanted to make my wife watch GoNY this weekend but the filthy beast wasn't out yet. [This message has been edited by Titan (edited March 25, 2003).] |

No seriously, answer the question, I'm curious now.
Beast=Wife or Movie? Also, instead of painfully trying to download that movie, why don't you just buy it from these guys who could get it for your quite quickly. http://dvdkings.owns.it -Ugly Bastard [This message has been edited by Ugly Bastard (edited March 25, 2003).] |
